True out-of-the-box performance with this fully loaded, 37-key, portable DAW.

Using a 15" touchscreen, 37 black and white keys, external QWERTY keyboard and running Windows OS, the Open Labs MiKo LXD is an entirely different class of portable music instrument. This portable media work center was specifically designed for the electronic musician or music producer working in today's digital lifestyle.

MiKo LXD's optimized Windows OS natively supports virtually any music application or plug-in developed for a PC. From Pro Tools to Nuendo, Native Instruments KOMPLETE to Spectrasonics Omnisphere, MiKo LXD complements them all with ease.

This mobile keyboard workstation is equipped with the Bump MP integrated drum module, designed to allow you to create beats and trigger any sound, loop, or sample in realtime. Enhanced with a special Open Labs version of Guru from FXpansion, key features of the Bump MP include: (16 plus 1) fully assignable pads, note repeat, max level, fixed level fader, transport controls, chromatic mode, hold, pad tune, multiple groove preset, and 8 engines with 24 presets per engine.

The MiKo LXD workstation is also equipped with the Open Labs Mix/Edit controller. The mixer section consists of multiple, fully assignable controls including: (8) encoders, (8) lighted buttons, (8) faders, (4 X 4) banks (total of 128 channels), and (1) master volume fader. The edit section consists of multiple, fully assignable controls including: (8) encoders, (1) LCD display (for encoders), (4) buttons, and (4) banks (total of 32 control parameters).

Some of the most relevant and compelling sounds included in this Miko keyboard are Open Labs The Master's Series Library produced by multi-platinum producer Mr. Porter (Denaun Porter), as well as Open Labs' own V5 sound, sample, and loop library.

Also included is Open Labs Riff, an unique concept in virtual instrument hosting. Written from the ground up by Open Labs, Riff encompasses over six years of live performance and studio production knowledge gathered from some of the world's top artists, engineers, composers, and producers. The Miko's advanced features include: Live Controls, which allows you to create any number of virtual controls in realtime that can be mapped to various effects and other parameters. Advanced intelligence allows any number of virtual controllers to manipulate any number of other virtual controllers, providing automation for virtual instruments and effects. Rewire allows for this powerful host application to be used within any DAW program.

The LXD offers superior mobility in a compact package. Its perfect for working in a project studio of performing live”where creating beats, guitar, and vocal multi-tracking, and DJ/VJ capabilities are as necessary as simply playing a keyboard. Its assignable Master and DJ controllers elevate live performance beyond normal application. For instance, you can trigger MP3s in realtime, then grab audio waveforms via the touchscreen. To top things off, throw some real-time drum, bass, and vocal lines on top of your mix.

Open Labs instruments are equipped with Firewire, USB, PCI EXPRESS and an Ethernet port, allowing access to the Internet via a broadband connection. Open Labs tech support can log-in to your system, and our online technicians can remotely view and diagnose any issue”while you are still in your own studio.

GREAT PRODUCT, don't get me wrong, nothing can touch this. But, come on now, you don't need to drop the 4.5K on it...

Comments about Open Labs MiKo LXD Portable Keyboard Workstation:

Think about this. If you are going to buy an intermediate studio rig you will spend around 5k at least. Why do that when you can buy everyhing in one. All you need is some speakers oh and guess what MF are throwing in a set upon purchasing it. Anyway your imagination is your limit with this. Its entirely too much stuff to name what it does. You wont regret this board. Also watch the price from time to time. Carlsbad dude I didn't pay 4.5k for mine brand new ;-)

Miko and Neko LX series are great.

Comments about Open Labs MiKo LXD Portable Keyboard Workstation:

I'm in the process of buying one now after playing with one and spending a little time learning about it from a happy owner , I'm very impressed !This unit is and will always to me be worth the money , it's gonna replace 4 or 5 pieces of gear for me . Sooo many sounds out the box and drums were great ,most of all it was easy to work (user friendly),I thought it was gonna be very hard to work and figure out,it wasn't.I'm looking forward to getting my own very soon !!!

Comments about Open Labs MiKo LXD Portable Keyboard Workstation:

I currently own a Miko TIM4 SE Open Labs system, and I love it to death. This system out of the box has AMAZING value. It also lives up to the hype posted on their website regarding on the road / live performances as well. It's definitely great to not lug around compressors, fx units, etc; You can just do it in real time in software!Hats off to the OL crew. For this system I do miss the QWERTY keyboard; but the new mixer/knob section is a definite bonus. Expose more USB ports on your next form factor OL!
