Having seen a few reviews, I think people are being a little harsh, and I'll explain why. First, where (else) in the world can you buy a new 88-key, hammer-weighted digital piano for less than 3 bones? I'll save you the time. -Nowhere. At least not any other place I've seen. No, it's not going to compete with a nice Yamaha costing 4 times as much, but I think you're getting a pretty outstanding bang-for-your-buck. The key action is pretty realistic and the key clicking that you often get with a cheaper keyboard is almost non-existent. The onboard sounds are OK, but limited. However, with the help of a USB cable and a computer, you can open up a whole new world of sounds. Like most digital pianos, you don't want to be toting this one around alot because it's a bit on the hefty side. However, this is s pretty decent home piano /controller and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I use this to via USB with my computer to play melodies and leads in Reason. I also use to play piano. The keys feel great. I've always wanted an 88 key, weighted, hammer action MIDI keyboard and this is perfect for the price.

Got this on deal of the day for one Monty nine Very solid keyboard for an unbelievable price. Great starter keyboard for kids to start on a realistic piano, or as a usable stage piano, nice feel with usable sounds. Best value I have encountered in a long time.

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 Plus Digital Piano:

Overall, perfectly acceptable for a beginner pianist on a budget. You just won't find a new fully-weighted 88-key keyboard for this price anywhere else. It's no Yamaha or Casio, but it does exactly what it should for a learner. It's certainly not a concert keyboard, but for me it doesn't have to be.

The only complaint I have is that one of the A keys on the one I got, sticks. Obviously one sticky key renders the entire piano essentially useless. I took a star for this reason. I did buy one "box open," but I assumed it was fully examined before it was resold. I don't know how they missed that it had a sticky key. I would have paid the extra for an unopened one to avoid this.

The quality is really nice for the price. The sound is amazing, although the length of the note does last much longer than a true piano but that's alright.

Im a guitarist by profession. Only had this about a week so i cant speak for durability.
Downsizing my studio and sold my old Yamaha S90.
This Allegro was a perfect replacement at a lower price point. Same weighted keys....great grand piano samples and one fourth the price of my s90...with the bonus of built in speakers. So if i have an idea all i have to do is turn it on ....instead of powering up the whole studio for sound.

Comments about Williams Allegro 2 Plus Digital Piano:

I bought this piano as a Stupid Deal for a little less than half MSRP. I've owned a Casio CDP-135, a Casio Privia PX160, and a Yamaha P115 -- All piano's near the MSRP of this piano or significantly higher.

Overall, the Allegro is an outstanding value when there is a good sale and still a decent purchase with normal discounts. The two greatest aspects of this piano: Hammer weighted keys and a USB output.

The hammer action on this piano is just as good as the entry level (130/135) Casio's or other brand equivalents. When you play this it feels almost identical to an acoustic piano. The action is drastically better than a keyboard without hammer action or 'semi-weighted' keys (like the Williams Legato). This has a significant impact on dynamic control of sound as well as the ability to quickly shift to playing acoustic pianos.

The second huge advantages is having a USB out. This piano is a joy to use in DAWs to control various plugins. You can quickly edit your music as you wish. Just as good, you can use plugins of more realistic sounding pianos (say, a Steinway) to make the piano sound absolutely amazing. USB can also be used to learn from piano software -- giving instant feedback.

The most serious con: The tones from this piano are pretty bad compared to the competitors. It sounds okay. It's still better than any free MIDI sounds you'd get off a keyboard. Still, the competitors did a far better job at sampling realistic tones. This piano is fine for composing, learning, or playing for friends but it is not something I would recommend for any live performances. The only piano mode that is decent is the 'grand piano' mode. The onboard speakers are also very quiet and lack bass (though stereo outputs largely help this with an amp or headphones).

Overall, great purchase for those learning or looking for a cheap piano to compose with at home. I would strongly recommend a Casio, Yahama or other competitor if you are looking for a performance piano.

This piano/keyboard is perfect for a beginner. Not very expensive and if you could buy it during a stupid deal sale it's a win-win... I purchased this for my grandchildren and they are beginner piano players and they love it. I personally have a Roland stage piano and this is not a Roland stage piano but it is a very good reasonably price piano... Highly recommend this if you are just starting out to play piano. Not a lot of money for this product and I'm sure it would be an easy resale if you decide to quit playing and probably recoup 3/4 of your money...

It's great! Love the sound, price, and size. But, the sustain pedal is rather digital. That is, it is either on or off, rather than allowing a fade. Other than that, it's great!

The action is fair, but not as good as it should be. The piano sound is far from an acoustic piano. The farther up the keyboard, the worse it gets! Also had a problem with the sustain pedal.
