Great Keyboard

By Ace-MW2-p

Comments about Yamaha YPG-635 package:

This is a great keyboard. The sounds are great, the response is great, and I love the Graded-Hammer Keys. If you play on those, then you can play on anything, because the keys are so heavy, any other type of Piano will be nothing compared to it. The only downside of this instrument is the sound output. If you play it about 3/4 of the MAX Volume, then it vibrates, which gets annoying. Plus it's considered a "Portable Grand" when it's very heavy, etc. Other than that, it's a great keyboard! Especially when you hook it up to a good amp like I did for a while. I recommend this item to any pianist looking for a good keyboard.

Great bang for your buck!

Comments about Yamaha YPG-635 package:

I did a lot of research before deciding on this unit. WOW! Definitly the most bang for your buck! Granted there are a lot of better pianos on the market right now, but none close to this price range in my opinion. The built in sequencer is a must for songwriters! The piano sounds sound slightly tingy through the built in speakers BUT, plug this baby into a mixer or outboard amp and POW! You have an honest to goodness grand piano under your hands! The feel of the weighted keys mimick some great true-life baby grands I have played in my life. I was blown away by the realism of the touch and hammer action in these keys. If I was forced to come up with some negatives about this model, it would be the onboard speakers- weak volume wise and lacking that "depth" in the low ranges not to mention many reviews have said they have a tendancy to blow at prolonged high volume(I've yet to have a prob. but then again, there's no such thing as "high volume" through the on board speakers!) and the string ensembles don't sustain very long with the sustain pedal. They sustain almost as a plucked string with almost immediate decay. And last, it is NOT a portable grand. It may say "Portable Grand Piano" but there's nothing portable about this monster. She's heavy, awkward and I won't be moving it from gig to gig if you know what I mean. But if you're looking for a solid, high-end sounding piano for your home or studio for under $1000, you can't beat this unit.

Comments about Yamaha YPG-635 package:

I've had the 635 for about 2 months now. Buy it. It's great. Action if graded and feels real nice. Sound from the speakers is more than good enough to sit down, turn on, and just play. Add a pair of headphones, close your eyes, and you'd think you're playing an acoustic. Just unbelievable. I'm not rich and looked and played a bunch of different electric pianos before this purchase. I needed something that I could sit down and play anytime, and something that I could use as a midi slave keyboard to record with. I think this product accomplishes both these tasks rather well.I'm running it into a Toshiba laptop running Vista. It was basically plug and play after installing the software. I'm using the Mixcraft by Acoustica sequencing software with no problems.I've had the keyboard about 2 months and I'm still amazed at how well it plays and sounds.I love this keyboard as much as day one, maybe more. Recommend highly. I'm a Yamaha fan, so buying it didn't take much faith. Yammie kicks butt usually, and doesn't break.Buy it, you'll love it!

Comments about Yamaha YPG-635 package:

Go ahead, compare the casio priva 320 and the yamaha p 85 with the yamaha ypg 635 and you quickly come to the conclusion that the 635 is the far superior keyboard. Great pianos, nylon guitar with strings is pretty sweet. Throw on top of that a slick sequencer and midi and your on your way to recording those songs in your head. The 635 is the best bang for the buck out there. I own a yamaha xs88 but find myself playing my daughters 635 just as often. A great deal!!!!

Comments about Yamaha YPG-635 package:

I have this keyboard and it is the best ting I have ever had. This keyboard has features that are unbelievably outstanding....if you want to talk about bass, the bass is mind blowing. Not only can you mix voices, you can make your own and you can also create a left hand accompliment....Not only does it look good on the net, but when you have it, the look makes it stand out. I carry this keyboard out to play on a regular bases and everyone who sees or plays it, is blown away.....TRUST ME YOU WILL LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!!
