OVERVIEW

A shoe exclusively for drummers.

Drummers are constantly looking for that certain feel when it comes to their playing. Playing in your socks isn't always practical, and playing barefooted can easily damage your heels and the balls of your feet. So play in comfort, but keep the feel and control of your pedals, with the new Groove from dB Shoes. This very lightweight and breathable mesh shoe has a low-cut ankle with padding for your heel. In addition, the Groove has an arch support on top of an anti-microbial insole liner. A flexible rubber outsole and stitched toe support, along with a unique lacing system, helps keep your shoes nice and tight, and prevents them from coming undone while you play. Comes to you with a broken-in feeling, ready to wear as soon as your take them out of the box. Just lace up and start drumming.

Sizing
All shoes come in medium widths.
If you wear a 1/2 size, it is best to go to the next full size down for proper fit since the shoes are intended to be worn without socks. If you wear a full size, get the full size.

  • Low toe spring--for a closer contact between you and the pedal

  • Adjustable lacing system inspired by track shoes, to ensure your laces stay tight
  • Breathable upper mesh material to keep your feet cool and dry

  • Lowered pattern height with Achilles dip to help eliminate ankle restrictions

  • Extremely lightweight
  • Collapsible upper for easy travel

I have been using these shoes for about 4 years now and they are definately the next best thing to playing barefoot. I get a much quicker response time which makes my playing much tighter. Triplets are a breeze with these shoes. I thought by now that I would need another pair, but they are still in great shape. I only wear them for playing and not for walking around in. If you get a pair, you won't be sorry!

Very disappointed with these. I was hoping for something that let me still flex my foot and maybe feel the pedal a little. These are stiffer than some sneakers that I have! They are lighter than my sneakers - but if you're looking for something that is as flexible as a sock - try PALISADES by Body Glove - they're a water sock. They look sorta like a sneaker, but flex like a sock and you can feel the pedal. They grip and won't slide on the pedal - so keep that in mind to determine if they work with you're style of playing.

Comments about dB Groove Drum Shoes:

WARNING DO NOT BUY THESE YOU WILL BE SORRY!!! I've been looking for a while for a comfortable light weight shoe that allows my foot to slide on a petal as socks do. Figure I try these, found a pair of Nikes that were rather expensive figured I'd give these a try. These have a rubber grip that does not allow for good foot action. They are so cheaply made, they might as well be made of paper. The ankles are lower than low cut socks and offer not a bit of support. Feels like wearing slippers with no backs. No matter how tightly you lace them, feels like they're going to come off. Lace up drum shoes? Who ever designed these things doesn't play drums. They'd know shoe strings get caught in petals unless you do something with the shoe laces to some extent.

I have had the same pair of shoes for almost three years now they are super light wieght and also have arch supports. Ive had the so long that ive worn all the grip of the bottom and this make them even better. The longer you wear them the more flexible they become.

Better your sox

Comments about dB Groove Drum Shoes:

These shoes serve their purpose, but only if you use them right. Don't wear them to practice, then drive home and play football in the back yard in them. Keep them clean. They have a flat bottom, NO traction to walk in so be careful. But for drumming, they work great. Nothing is really like the bare foot feeling you have at home, but if you tour like I do, you don't want to walk barefoot in the places we have to play, lets face it. They are close to a boat shoe, but your ankle it totally cut out and it gives you great control. This is as good as it gets, so if your touring... Get this shoe-

These aren't your father's Drum Shoe.

Comments about dB Groove Drum Shoes:

Like I said in the "Feature" part of the rating, the toes are curled up and that is a big downer for how I play. I was able to fix it with a new toe stop. They are light and comfy and I feel like I could wear them a long time before getting tired.
I will have to go half way with this product (gave it a 5) because they have some good points and some bad points as far as the way that I play my kit. First let me say that I was disappointed in the fact that these were made in China. I spent some time in Korea and they sort of look like the same shoes they were making over there. Time will tell if they will hold up or not. The next thing is the toes on these shoes curl up. I am still wondering why they were designed this way. I am playing the Tama Iron Cobra's double pedal set-up and the toe stop on these pedals are way too short to keep your foot from climbing up into the pedal workings. Like I say, this is how I play MY kit. I also get up on the balls of my feet at times and for this position, the configuration of the up-turned toe works just fine. I got these shoes about a month ago and waited until now to write a review so I could give them a good tryout. I did find a way around the "short" toe stop of the Cobra's. I built a new one that stands 2 1/4" tall off of the pedal. This has solved my problem with the turned-up toe of the shoe. The shoes are very lightweight and that is a big plus. I never have played barefoot or without socks so I wear a thin sock with the shoes and they are snug and comfy.
Made in China, so we will have to see. So far they feel sturdy enough.
Should sell for less.

Comments about dB Groove Drum Shoes:

I purchased these DB Drumshoes on a whim. Once I got them I tried them on my practice kit. They felt a little weird at first but then I tried them on my kit. OMG, I can't believe how comfortable these things are. I'm also playing with more control and more speed. After jamming for 3 hrs my feet felt fantastic. I don't think I'll ever play without them now. One of the best products I have purchased to help improve my playing!

Comments about dB Groove Drum Shoes:

These are drumming shoes and not for walking around and wearing. As a drummer, for many years every time I changed sneakers I had to get used to them as far as playing drums. I've gone barefoot and just socks but for me I feel more comfortable with a shoe. With this product I get a consistent feel with my feet and I'm comfortable. If that's what you're looking for these shoes will fill that use perfectly.

You got to feel the pedals, not just know they are under your feet. These shoes will help you get in touch with your kicks. Very cool and comfortable. Keep your feet off the sticky floors and pull these babies on and enjoy the new connection with your pedals and pocket the best-felt grooves. It would be even cooler if they made this in a simple pull-on and lost the strings?.How about Red, Purple, White colors?

Comments about dB Groove Drum Shoes:

I received these shoes for my birthday and got my first chance to try them out today. I am more than impressed. They keep your feet cool and way almost nothing. It's like playing in your socks, but with better control. I've always worn tennis shoes because I needed something to grip the pedals, and I like my shoes to be quite tight. These are great because you can make them tight or loose, and they way a lot less than tennis shoes. Really fast double bass is really important in the type of music I play, and these shoes help me go even faster, but keep a strong volume. Buy them they are worth it.

Well, I got these shoes awhile back and has used them ever since. They are simple and have only the features that you need. If you like drumming barefoot or feel that your shoes you have now aren't giving you the feel than get these. They are extremely light weight so you don't even know you're wearing them. They ventilate well too to keep your feet dry and cool. The sole of the shoe helps to grip the pedal and it's not too thick so you can still feel the pedal. Overall these shoes are great and they are a steal for the price.
