Good Starter to Intermediate/Some issues

Comments about Silver Creek Rocker Upright String Bass Outfit:

(I've played my fender P for years but this is my first upright) Ill start with the pros: The bass was well set up, has great strings, holds a tune, good tone, packed VERY well in a box and it plays well right out of the box. Since I have no other bass examples to go by, I'll say its very playable. I was gonna go engelhardt but the bridge and pickup on this sold me
Cons: The bow and pickup were not included and I need it soon so I called MF and they are sending me a pickup for now and Ill also get the one that was supposed to come with it. Very small nitpick is the paint is shoddy but instruments get beat up so I'm not very concerned. Bottom Line is I like this bass, I'd buy it again and MF's customer service blew me away. It seems as though they cut and pasted the Lee rocker Tuxedo description for this and that might be some of the confusion in what comes with it and what doesn't but MF fixed the mistake and fixed it fast. If you're a pro, go better but if youre just starting, this is a good one to go with

Comments about Silver Creek Rocker Upright String Bass Outfit:

I haven't had an upright in over 20 years, but it was like a duck taking to water when I started playing this. Within a few minutes my bandmates were amazed that I sounded like I had been playing upright every day my entire life. A lot of the credit is due to this great instrument.

Comments about Silver Creek Rocker Upright String Bass Outfit:

I have been playing this instrument for about a year now and it has performed well. I added a "lifeline" pickup and plugged the f-holes and amplify it most times. Acoustically, it is not exceptional, but for my needs it has been great.

    Shoddy paint and dead sound

    By Tito

    from Baltimore, MD

Comments about Silver Creek Rocker Upright String Bass Outfit:

I bought one of these used. The paint wears off so I found my left hand would become blackened after each session. Furthermore, there's not much of an acoustic sound, and I had to really destroy my right fingers to be audible. It's also unbelievably heavy given how little sound it puts out. In summary, this bass will darken one hand, inflict blisters on the other, and wreck your back.
