Overview

A mastering equalizer with instant analog recall.

Mastering is often defined by the smallest decisions, and having precise control over those decisions can make the difference between a good master and a great one. The Bettermaker Mastering Equalizer combines the sonic integrity of a fully analog signal path with the speed, precision and recall capabilities of modern digital workflows. Designed for mastering engineers, mix engineers and high-end production facilities, it delivers an exceptionally flexible collection of active and passive EQ stages, advanced filtering options and comprehensive DAW integration within a single hybrid hardware platform. By pairing true analog audio processing with digital control, touchscreen operation and total recall, the Mastering Equalizer allows engineers to focus on listening rather than documenting settings.

Analog Sound Quality With Exceptional Tonal Flexibility

At its core, the Mastering Equalizer is a fully analog processor built around premium components, carefully designed gain stages and high-headroom circuitry. Four fully parametric EQ bands provide up to 15dB of boost or cut with adjustable Q values, while the low and high bands can be configured for either bell or shelf operation. Dedicated high-pass and low-pass filters provide additional frequency management, while a Pultec-style passive section with extended 23kHz and 28kHz air bands enables subtle top-end enhancement beyond the range of many conventional equalizers. Stereo, dual-mono and mid/side operating modes further expand its versatility for mastering, mix-bus processing and detailed tonal shaping.

Hybrid Workflow With Total Recall and DAW Integration

Unlike traditional analog equalizers, every parameter on the Mastering Equalizer is digitally controlled through its 5" touchscreen interface, dedicated plugin and USB connectivity. Engineers can instantly save and recall up to 399 presets, perform precise A/B comparisons and automate parameters directly from their DAW while maintaining a completely analog audio path. Features such as Frequency Search, Gain Lock, Auto-Q and EQ band interlocking make complex adjustments faster and more intuitive, while live EQ curve visualization provides immediate visual feedback. The result is a workflow that combines the convenience of software with the sonic advantages of analog hardware.

Built for Modern Mastering Environments

The Mastering Equalizer is designed to integrate seamlessly into professional mastering and production studios. Balanced XLR inputs and outputs, a high-quality linear power supply with toroidal transformer, comprehensive Peak/RMS metering and onboard real-time spectrum analysis support critical listening and accurate decision-making. Its 2U rackmount chassis houses a system capable of exceptional frequency accuracy, wide dynamic range and low-distortion performance while remaining fully recallable across sessions. Combining analog fidelity, advanced workflow tools and operational flexibility, the Bettermaker Mastering Equalizer delivers the transparency, precision and recall capabilities demanded by today's mastering engineers.

Features

  • Analog mastering equalizer fuses recallable control with uncompromised sonic detail
  • Digital touchscreen and DAW plug-in offer instant total recall of settings
  • 399 user presets and A/B comparison speed up mix decisions
