Don't Forget

Versatility and rugged reliability separate this mic from the pack.

The AKG D7 is a dynamic microphone that delivers the subtle, open, detailed sound of a condenser microphone, while maintaining the rugged reliability and ease of control of a dynamic microphone. At the heart of the AKG D7 mic's design is AKG's new Laminate Varimotion diaphragm, which allows precise response tuning without resonators. Thanks to the Laminate Varimotion diaphragm, the AKG D7 microphone delivers beautifully detailed sound, amazing response consistency at any SPL and absolutely incredible gain-before-feedback. You'll find that the AKG D7 is a microphone that always sounds "right" even on the loudest stages.

The AKG D7 mic also features a built-in high-pass filter that cuts out unwanted low frequencies, minimizes handling noise, and provides superior audio clarity and intelligibility. This AKG dynamic microphone also features a hum-canceling coil that greatly reduces interference from nearby electrical devices-ensuring that only pure vocal sounds come through.

The AKG D7 isn't just a pretty package-it's a microphone that features a super-strong, heavy-duty die-cast chassis with a thick, dent-resistant grille screen that can easily handle the inevitable accidents that happen in live performances on the road. The AKG D7 mic is also equipped with a gold-plated XLR-type output connector for loss-free signal transfer.

The sum total of the AKG D7 microphone's technology is a reference-quality dynamic mic that offers complete control for singers and speakers and, therefore, a better listening experience for audiences.

AKG backs the European-built AKG D7 microphone with a 2-year parts and labor warranty.

AKG D7 vs Shure Beta 58

Comments about AKG D7 Varimotion Dynamic Microphone:

My next vocal mic, should I need one, will be another AKG D7. I have a Shure SM58 and a Beta 58. I just got my AKG D7, and did some comparing playing through a Fishman Loudbox Mini amp that I like to practice with. The D7 would not distort/overdrive even if I had my lips right up on it. The 58s did--I thought it was the amp prior to receiving my D7. The D7 also brings a warmer quality to vocals than the 58s.The specs are comparable.
Every bit as rugged as 58
$20 more than a Beta 58, but worth it to me.

Comments about AKG D7 Varimotion Dynamic Microphone:

This mic is great for live vocals. It has all of the presence and bite of a condenser without needing phantom power. It has great feedback rejection and a nice frequency response that cuts through the mix nicely. Built really well....I can see this lasting for many years, making it a very good deal and value despite the higher price.

Comments about AKG D7 Varimotion Dynamic Microphone:

I have used this microphone in numerous settings....its intended use as a live dynamic mic fits it well, but I also love using it to mic instruments for recording...with just this mic and my OM series Martin, I get better tone than with any number of my more expensive condenser mics.

What really sets this purchase above the rest though is the service I received. I have been using these mics as borrowed pieces up until now and my own D7 is in the mail on its way to me. Thanks to my "gear head" at MF, I got a discount through the price match program and despite a lengthy game of phone tag, he made sure I got the best deal possible.

    Glad I picked this one
