The Audix DP4A Drum Microphone Pack is an excellent selection of 4 microphones that are industry standards for professional drum and percussion applications. Equally useful for studio as well as live sound, Audix DP4A microphones are known for clarity, sound isolation, high SPL handling, and durability.

The Audix DP4A mic package is ideal for hand percussionists or drummers who may have a small kit or are looking to augment a larger kit. The Audix DP4A consists of one i-5 (snare, timbale, quinto), 2 D2 mics (toms, cajon, congas), and 1 D4 (floor tom, small kick, djembe, cajon). Also included are 4 DVICE rim mount clips, one for each mic. Everything is conveniently packaged in a foam-lined aluminum carrying case road case for safe keeping when not in use.

The DP4A Mics:

i5 (1): Snare, Quinto, Cowbell, Timbale

The i5 has the ability to capture the rich, deep resonance of the snare along with the attack necessary to cut through the mix. The i5's cardioid polar pattern allows it to focus on the specific instrument that is being miked while rejecting other instruments or ambient noise on stage. With a smooth and uniform frequency response of 50Hz“16kHz and an ability to handle sound pressure levels in excess of 140dB, the i5 can be also used for a wide variety of instrument applications including percussion, guitar cabs, and vocals.

D2 (2): Rack Toms, Congas, Cajon

For bringing out the real, dynamic sound of toms or congas, the D2 cannot be beat. The D2 accurately reproduces the warmth and overtones of the instrument without sounded harsh or boomy. The D2, which is very natural and articulate, requires very little (if any) EQ, and because of the tight hypercardioid polar pattern, no gating is needed.

D4 (1): Floor Tom, Large Rack Tom, Small Kick Drum, Djembe

The D4, providing an additional octave of low end response beyond the D2, is the perfect companion for large toms and other instruments characterized with extended bass frequencies. In fact, the D4 responds down to below 40Hz, a remarkable feat for a microphone of its size and performance. The D4 is characterized with a flat linear response from 40Hz“18kHz, making it the most versatile of all the D-series microphones.
