The heartbeat of the SSP118-MKII active subwoofer is a potent, highly efficient Class-D power module that generates 2,400W RMS, allowing it to hit those ultra-deep frequencies and deliver sustained output up to 130 dB. Simply put, the SSP118-MKII subwoofer offers the SPL of two, three and in some cases four mass-market subs, with low-frequency output its competitors can't touch—all in a compact package that fits into a hatchback.

Built to withstand the rigors of repeated gigging, the DJ21S powered subwoofer is constructed from 18 mm Baltic Birch plywood, using dado joints, screws and advanced composite adhesives. Stainless steel bolts are used to secure the driver, amplifier and pole sockets. The cabinet is finished in an extremely rugged, black polyurethane coating. The SSP118-MKII's driver is protected by a black powder-coated, perforated steel grill, and the amp is recessed into the back of the cabinet for protection from damage.

Complementing the SSP118-MKII's virtually indestructible design is a 18" driver that's also built to take a beating. The woofer cone is waterproofed to protect it from accidental exposure to moisture, such as rain or spilled beverages. The added benefit of a waterproof cone is that you can clean the driver with a damp cloth in the event it becomes soiled.

BASSBOSS uses only continuous RMS power ratings because you’re not going to be using your sub in millisecond bursts. For subwoofer applications, peak and burst power ratings are largely irrelevant. 2,400W of continuous power ensures the amp isn’t the limiting factor in the output of low frequencies, and prevents overheating issues and virtually eliminates the damage that clipping an underpowered amp can cause.
