OVERVIEW

High-performance 500W 12" active subwoofer with built-in crossover.

Behringer's EUROLIVE B1200D-PRO 500W active subwoofer provides the ultimate in low-frequency reproduction, and the built-in stereo crossover makes it ideally suited for use with any of their active 2-way loudspeakers. Packed with a powerful 500W Class-D amplifier, 15" long-excursion Low-Frequency (LF) transducer and an incredible array of professional features, the B1200D-PRO produces extreme levels of low-end punch, with the definition and clarity typically reserved for much larger systems!

Put simply, these cool-running systems are much lighter, making them ultra-easy to transport and set up “ and our no-compromise design means you get amazingly-deep, chest-pounding bass that will keep the party going all night long.

Class-D - Massive Power, Perfect Sound
Thanks to Behringer's revolutionary Class-D amplifier technology, they are able to provide you with enormous power and incredible sonic performance in an easy-to-use, ultra-portable and lightweight package. Class-D amplification makes all the difference, offering the ultimate in energy efficiency and eliminating the need for heavy power supplies and massive heat sinks. This amazing technology makes it possible to design and build extremely powerful products that are significantly lighter in weight than their traditional counterparts, while using less energy and protecting the environment.

Custom-Engineered Transducers
Powerful, high-efficiency Class-D amplifiers and Switch Mode Power Supply technology coupled with state-of-the-art DSP functionality sure sounds impressive “ but what about the part of the system you actually hear? Behringer never cuts corners on their transducers (woofers and tweeters). Their LF transducers are designed specifically for each application. When you buy a BEHRINGER active subwoofer, you can rest assured that the transducer inside has been engineered to perform flawlessly with every other element for truly professional results. The B1200D-PRO active subwoofer is capable of extremely high sound pressure levels: 122 dB (Full Space, 1 W @ 1 m), with a frequency range of 45 - 180 Hz.

Take Control
The B1200D-PRO features balanced XLR inputs and outputs, as well as balanced XLR Thru jacks for connecting additional enclosures. A Boost Frequency knob targets a boost frequency between 45Hz and 90Hz. Flick the Boost switch to give your selected frequency a +10 dB boost. The B1200D- PRO also has a High Cut dial that provides precision control over the upper-corner frequency of the subwoofer' amplifier. The High Cut dial does not affect the Thru signals, only signals directed to the subwoofer (however, it does affect the Output socket signals sent out to full-range speakers). A Level knob controls the input gain, and the Phase switch reverses output phase to compensate for frequency cancellation between the subwoofer and satellite speakers. LEDs show operational status at a glance, including power, signal present and input overloads.

I am using this with a Carvin S600 Stagemate system. I play acoustic rock using a Breedlove C25/CRH with LR BAGGS Anthem electronics going through a TCHelicon Voicelive 3. Crisp, clear sound across the spectrum. The Behringer adds a nice tight low end punch and has the controls to dial in exactly what you are looking for. This is a great deal for the $$$$. If you count price in the mix....this gets 5 stars, but I'm going by sound and quality and not including the $$$ factor.

I don't know if I am whining but this thing clips early with the volume up only 30% on certain songs. My other EV 12" subs don't do this, but they don't have the same lows that this 12" sub has. I have to watch this sub like a hawk when a basey song comes on and I have the volume turned up. It clips pretty early on certain songs. It still sounds good and with the volume at a moderate to loud level. You might want to look at the ALTO for a little more money....but I don't know for sure. Knowing what I know now I would have bought something different. I have done plenty of live events with karaoke but mostly friends.
Done a few paid events.

If it were me I would test this against the ALTO or another reasonably priced 12" sub and see which one is better. I gave it 3 stars so anybody buying this will give a little pause and make sure this sub is for them.

Excellent addition to my Bose L1 Compact PA System

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B1200D-PRO 12" Active Subwoofer:

I bought this to see if it could add some more low end to my Bose L1 Compact system for my solo/duo guitar/bass gigs. I must say that it enhances the low end very nicely. I've only used it in my studio so far, but I am confident it will serve very well at gigs. I wanted this sub to allow me to bring the Bose Compact to most of my gigs, especially smaller outdoor gigs. There is just me and a bass guitar player with backing tracks (drums), and a more pronounced bass guitar and kick drum was desired. This sub serves that purpose very well. It's light and small enough, and the power and sound are excellent. Can't wait to try it at our next gig. I gave it 5 stars because so far it appears to do exactly what I bought it for.

I purchased this for smaller gigs, country clubs, restaurants, parties, etc, and it's perfect. I use a Carvin AG300 acoustic amp with tracks of original tunes and this sub really rounds the sound out nicely. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I admit that I was a bit skeptical, given it's size and price. However, that all changed as soon as I got it all hooked into our sound system. Great low end, sounds great with live instruments and with canned music. Only bought one, and that's all we needed!

Most of my gigs are solo acoustic with a drum machine. Some are done with a PA, others with only a Loudbox Mini. In both cases, getting good drums, mellow guitar, and clean vocals has been a challenge. This little sub fills the low-end gap very nicely without dragging a giant cabinet around. I love it.

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B1200D-PRO 12" Active Subwoofer:

I use this for my solo act using backing tracks.

My PA is running 600 watts (300 per side) with 12" mains. I would say this 500 watt, 12" sub is just enough or is slightly under powered for what I have. Having said that, I am very pleased with it and how it works with my system.

It sounds great. Focused. No annoying, sloppy "boom", just good clean, low end.

It has a lot of bells and whistles. I don't use them. I just run the XLR, sub out of my mixer into the left input and I'm good to go.

It's relatively small and it looks sleek.

It was time to add a sub to the studio, so I looked at a lot of choices and picked this unit for it's price-point and features. It fills up the space just fine, and the stereo crossover is the item that you want to focus on for the feature that sells this sub. To me, it's placed in between the mixer and the P A amp. When you stand back and listen to the stereo field, you really know you've made the right decision with this choice. The volume of the lows is at your command, just pump it up. I chose this small sub, I can't imagine what the big subs feel like, look out!

No longer needed a big PA system as I'm now just doing solo gigs. I purchased this to work with two small satellite speakers to fill in the bottom end. It's doing the job quite well, very happy with it, easily fills a medium size room with a couple hundred people.
Other reasons for my purchase was size and weight.......

Originally had planned to use this Sub to put next to Drummer who needed some more "kick" drum under his seat, but Volume for him wasn't quite enough...The Tone was fine, but limiter came on and limited the Volume....This has a very nice sound and is punchy when dialed in....It makes a very nice, compact sized, low weight Subwoofer for general music play back...It feels solid and looks very nice.

great w/ Roland drums and a 12" Thump, not real loud but adds that touch of depth. Use two of these and 2 Mackie 12" Thumps for a duo w/ acoustic guitar, electric drums and 2 vocals- works like a charm. Rounds out sound nicely.

Needed clean honest bass notes in my playbacks and mixdowns. Figured to get a sub that would handle anything I might do in my studio as well as adding thump to my PA system for outside gigs/jams. Had this unit for 2 weeks now, using it only in my 30'x12' studio so far, gives me very good bass response at the lowest gain/vol setting and located about 10' from my ears. It has 90% more power than I need indoors, granted, but I know it's there when it's needed.

Just unpacked it yesterday and gave it about a 3 hour workout. Overall sound is great. Tuning the crossover is easy to match your satellite speakers. From the mixer to the inputs and out to the powered satellite speakers. I tried the boost but don't really need it. Phase setting I use normal. Remember this is a powered speaker so don't run your sliders on the mixer up too far, let the active speaker do it's job, it has the headroom.

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B1200D-PRO 12" Active Subwoofer:

I bought this to add low end to my 2 older model Alto Truesonic 12"s (good clarity for cheap, not so much low end)....wow. I immediately noticed the difference as well as one of my regular bar dj clients. It was like a club, totally transformed the dance mood, with just one of these subs added to the mix. In the right room, it will fill it with bass....for like a wedding reception type room with 200+ people, you may want to add another to really want it bump, but in my experience, one will do the job fine unless they want the feeling of being at a NWA concert. It will throw to the dance floor, but beyond that it thins....still though, you want to feel it more when you dance, not while you eat.

I've also used this with my rock band. I only add this when we mic the drums to give the kick a little more oomph. Oomph may not be the word, probably punchoof might be. I used a similar setup with a SA 18 powered sub, I prefer the 18". BUT...adding another one of these 12"s to the mix would probably help the cause. So get 2 for a band or 1 biggen.

Regardless of my nit pickiness when it comes to different applications, honestly, I will buy another just to have for 300+ people weddings or live music. The form factor and weight of these is worth it alone. I tried the pole hole setup, but the inside sleeve of my pole vibrates unless full extended, so I just set this under the dj table or out in front of the band.
