Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B15500XP 15" PA Subwoofer:

I originally bought one of these to compliment my passive Peavey PR 15's. I now own 2 B1500XP's and I'm looking to get 2 more. First of all, highlighting the nicer points of this sub, number one, even though it is a bit heavy, everyone knows wood resonates much better than plastic and these definitely have a warm, full-sounding punch to them in their wood cabinets. They are also very sleek and nice to look at. For my purposes, which are live sound/band gigs and weddings, these are more than adequate for shows up to 100 people (1 sub). If you get two, I'd say the punch would suffice for about 150 people. They are also stack-able which is what I do with mine. Definitely a nice feature. Now, the "not so nice" points of the sub. For starters, don't be fooled by the advertised wattage of these things, or any speaker for that matter. Peak wattage is never a good metric to measure the power of any speaker. You should always check out the spL/dB level. These have a max spL of 128dB which for the price point, is pretty good. If you add another sub, you can expect an overall increase of about 2-3 dB. However, if you get 2 of these, which I would recommend, stack them and and set them to the exact same levels across the board, the identical components working in unison at the exact same time will increase your overall dB level by another 1-2 dB. Some more points: These tend scratch/ scuff fairly easy and Behringer doesn't make any covers for these. So, if presentation is paramount for you, maybe buy something with a little better coating on them. Overall, I'd say I'm happy with these and will likely get 2 more for down the road to really move some air at my shows. I believe these sound best when stacked and other than clipping out at a level earlier than you might expect, they are pretty solid subs.

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B15500XP 15" PA Subwoofer:

I first ordered this particular EuroLive sub because Behringer's EuroLive small, powered monitors are really nice. I figured anything from the same line would be just as great. First of all, DO NOT BE FOOLED by the wattage of these things. Always pay more attention to the max dB level. This one has 128dB of spL and if you really want to rock a room, you can do it with this, but I'd highly recommend buying 2 instead of one and stacking them which is what I do. Bottom line, you really do get what you pay for here. It's heavier than most 15 inch subs, but wood resonates much better than plastic and even though these tend to clip or peak out out earlier than you might expect, they are very punchy and do sound nice. Overall, I'm happy with mine and I just bought some custom covers as well (Behringer doesn't make thier own). If you get 2, make sure to set them at the exact same level. Identical components of any speaker playing the exact same thing can really make a huge difference when they resonate in unison. Enjoy!
