Comments about Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD Audiophile 2x2, 24-Bit/192 kHz USB Audio Interface:

So, I'll start with my only complaint, and it's not much of a complaint at all. I wish there were more connections on the back. It has plenty of space back there that is just unused, so it just seems like maybe something else should be there, MIDI connections possibly. But, that's not a knock against this unit at all. There is another model that is exactly the same but with extra connections, so when I find the need for them I can just pick one of those up.

This interface is shockingly good for the price. I ran it with a variety of mics this week and even recorded my Kurzweil through it. It was every bit as good as any interface I've had at double the price. The preamps perform well. The hardware itself feels solid enough. The headphone output was more than adequate. Overall, it's just a great little unit for the price. Sure, you can get better stuff, but you won't get as much value for your money as you do with this one. I'm honestly considering buying the 4 preamp model now just to carry with me when I travel. If it's anywhere as good as this unit is, it'll be well worth the money. Get one.

Comments about Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD Audiophile 2x2, 24-Bit/192 kHz USB Audio Interface:

I use the UMC202HD in a live performance to play backing tracks from my laptop. I have used the USB output from computers under Windows, Linux, and Android. No special software or drivers are needed. Left and right speakers are driven from the main outputs and a stereo stage monitor is driven from the headphone jack. This works for me because the headphone output has a separate volume control. I also use a microphone for announcements using the direct monitor feature. Notice that the microphone will play through only the left or right speaker. There is no "mono" button as on my Focusrite or Lexicon interfaces. I suppose I could buy or make a "Y" adaptor cable to run the mic into both preamps.

Comments about Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD Audiophile 2x2, 24-Bit/192 kHz USB Audio Interface:

Under Overview, getting connected, there are a lot of features and connections described for this unit which it is not pictured with. Another review also had a minor complaint about how few connections this unit has on the back and referenced connections this unit claimed to have under "getting connected". I believe this is just a mistake as they are not listed under features.

Comments about Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD Audiophile 2x2, 24-Bit/192 kHz USB Audio Interface:

I bought this to record 24bit 192khz using reaper multitrack. I play the tabla drums and record in stereo by using two sure S 57 microphones. This is excellent and works with MacOSX no problems. This is really the best sound quality I have ever heard. Before I had to use a mixer into a 24 bit sound blaster card and it was not optimal. This is Driverless standard for MacOSX and Linux. I am happy with this and I appreciate it to be able to record in high res with no more fuss. I can also plug my instruments directly into it. You can setup to record however you want, very nice system. Thanks.
