OVERVIEW

Lightweight powered full-range speaker with mixer section.

The Harbinger VâRi V2215 multi-purpose loudspeaker is equipped with 600 watts of clean, articulate Class-D amplification, a new cabinet design with a more modern, angular look, and convenient electrical/acoustic design features.

An optical-limiter offers quicker response to potentially damaging transient peaks and preserves better audio detail to the input signal. A defeat-able LED on the front of the grille makes it easier to recognize clipping issues quickly. Plus, this 2-way system features a built-in 3-channel mixer, 2-band EQ and pole mount. And with its XLR balanced line out, you can hook up multiple speakers.

Harbinger VARI V2215 multi-purpose loudspeaker review
The 600 watt (peak) class D amp does a good job putting out nice clear articulate sound. As with all things musical the speakers need a "Break-In" period for all the moving parts to get along musically. The speakers do have a slight open circuit 60hz hum which seems to disappear once the speakers get a decent signal. As noted by others the use of a sub along with these speakers will give the desired low end frequencies. You will not be filling a large room with these speakers but as monitors or part of a system they do quite well. The description does not mirror the actual speakers though... they come with a 1/8" TRS jack (for recorded music) , an XLR and a 1/4" TRS on channel 1, and a TRS and RCA jacks on channel 2. In addition it does have bass and treble controls for the output, input level for each channel, and main output level. The specs say the frequency range is from 42hz to 140hz which I'm sure is a typo... should be closer to 14-15khz at the top end. Be Careful on the input settings for the channel 1 as you can select LO and HI Z inputs and selecting the wrong one overdrives the channel and distorts badly (as well as potentially wrecking the amps)
Got a pair of these on the SDOTD and they are a good value for my needs.

Low build quality

Arrived with the control knobs all cracked. Unlike others, they are not recessed. I returned it for a refund. The build quality didn't seem like it would survive professional use.

    Comments about Harbinger Vari V2215 600W 15-Inch Two-Way Class D Loudspeaker:

was looking for a substitute to a roland 500/550 this is it for the money......in fact I will buy another one to keep at home so I don't have to carry my primary back and forth......the only knock I have on this unit is the weight (which you know what you are getting from the specs) and it will hum a little at low volume levels when hooked up to my drumset

        Comments about Harbinger Vari V2215 600W 15-Inch Two-Way Class D Loudspeaker:

I got this for very cheap on a SDotD. It's decently loud and has decent sound for a cheap speaker. I use it as a stage monitor for my bass and vocal mic. It's probably 600 watt peak power, not RMS. It sounds about like a 250 watt bass amp I have. Nice lows for my bass. The knobs on the back feel like they will fall off with a little bit of use. Very cheap feeling. The instrument input and mic input are on channel one only. Channel two is only line level (even though they have a xlr input). Channel three is only an 1/8"Jack for plugging in your phone. I'm using it with a Line 6 so I can use the line level in for my bass, but it needs something like that to have an instrument and vocal mic mixed together

          Comments about Harbinger Vari V2215 600W 15-Inch Two-Way Class D Loudspeaker:

Bought these on the 'stupid deal of the day' to use as monitors. The powered / compact size works great for monitors. They are relatively light weight (considering built in amp), but durable ABS plastic. Only drawback might be the control knobs on the back may get damaged over time, if not careful during handling.

A review is an opinion. My review is based on that and the in field use I have been using them in. I have been using these since Dec 2017. I Used them for
Mobile DJ parties and home DJ sessions. I Have done several functions with these Harbingers. From playing Billy Joel, Metallica, Busta Rhymes to Tiesto. They are a good versatile speaker. On its own it is a very acceptable unit. Ppl get hung up on wattage. Bigger numbers are not better. These speakers provide very good clear sound similar to Altos. Bass? Yes Mackie Thump bass? No but again, factoring in its price and what your getting from it. I can say you are getting a very good speaker at a good price. A versatile speaker that can provide great clear sound. A sub like any other speaker will give the low end some ppl crave.

600 watts peak !!! That means the RMS or "How loud is it" is actually about 200 watts. Deliberately misleading specs to sell more. Investigate PEAK vs RMS.
