When configured in Safe, Fast, or Big modes, its processor maps its physical hard disk drives to virtual drives, which are visible to the host computer. The operating system treats each virtual drive as if it were a single physical drive, allowing software to overcome restrictions imposed by physical hard disk drives. In a basic JBOD configuration, it supports individual mapping of drives to volumes (logical instead of virtual).
