OVERVIEW

Complete PA with three-way response.

The MAUI 11 G2A is a complete sound system you carry in one hand. You might even be able to make it into the venue with one trip, as your other hand can be free to carry your instrument. Now if you could get someone to hold the door open…

All you have to do is grab the subwoofer with one hand and your guitar or keyboard with the other. Assembling the all-in-one PA and monitoring system with its custom plug-and-play multipin connectors is just as easy as packing it up to go. The MAUI 11 G2 delivers excellent audio quality and astonishing coverage from a compact, elegant package. It has been engineered with years of experience in column systems to provide a user-friendly solution for small to medium gigs and installations.

The MAUI 11 G2 sports a complement of three 6.5 in. woofers, eight 3 in. fullrange transducers and dual 1 in. neodymium compression drivers. Producing a punchy low end, balanced midrange and silky smooth highs, they are driven by a lightweight Class D amplifier with a massive 1,000 watts peak power. LD Systems’ DynX DSP technology ensures top performance and distortion-free audio at all times. It includes a multiband limiter to prevent clipping, EQ, a compressor and a 3-way crossover for perfect time alignment.

The line array configuration of the MAUI 11 G2 results in extended coverage, high feedback resistance and extra wide dispersion that lets you perform without the need for separate monitors. The high frequency drivers’ waveguide has been designed using BEM, the numerical modeling of sound radiation and propagation. It reduces floor and ceiling reflections, effectively eliminates side lobes and achieves a uniform pattern so your audience hears you the same from front to back row.

The MAUI 11 G2 puts you in control with a built-in 4-channel mixer, system presets for mono or stereo setup and Bluetooth audio streaming. If you’re a singer-songwriter, solo entertainer or DJ you’ll appreciate extraordinary audio performance and convenient portability. The column and sub can be placed apart making the system highly flexible and a great choice for installed sound applications, as well. With a selection of smart transport accessories and dedicated mounting hardware the MAUI 11 G2 is a comprehensive solution down to the smallest details.

Comments about LD Systems Maui 11 G2 Powered - Installable Column PA System:

I bought my first LD Systems unit, a Curv 500 a year ago and was amazed at the wonderful clear sound and punchy base. Since then I have bought a Maui 5 and latterly the updated Maui 11 G3. All have Bluetooth connectivity which is very useful and convenient to play back your own music through the system from a Smartphone etc..
The LD Sytems products are wonderful, good quality and very well built. I do find it best to use a small mixer as well especially if you are combining say a Keyboard/Guitar and doing vocals. I am glad Musicians Friend decided to sell these brilliant products. All arrived extremely well packaged and in prestige condition.

Comments about LD Systems Maui 11 G2 Powered - Installable Column PA System:

I am in a band that does rock, dance and funk. I have two Maui 11 G2 systems. We have been together for eight years and had the usual hassle with old school pa systems. We played recently to a crowd of 100 and everyone could hear perfectly! Living in Tasmania, Australia nobody had seen these systems. I've have lots of requests now and will be opening up a business in live sound. I will be getting more LD systems rigs.

Comments about LD Systems Maui 11 G2 Powered - Installable Column PA System:

Being in a Classic Rock Band spending all day & night lugging heavy equipment, I have been looking for an acceptable system to lighten the load and time. We used a Boise Model II for one gig but we still had to hook up monitors for stage. Sounded good but did not help us out much. I was impressed with the JBL Eon but it would not accomodate our 5 piece band. TurboSound had a good system but I wasn't crazy about the sound, then I discovered LD Maui 28. I was impressed with the stereo quality sound at high levels and it's anti- feedback technology. Since the Maui 28 was not in stock and had a long lead time I purchased 2 Maui 11's, with the understanding I could swap them for the 28's if they didn't work out. These Maui 11's work great for up to about a 75 person crowd without additional speakers and with there sound spread can be placed in your back line and used without monitors. By adding Speakers (or going with a pair of model 28's) you could easily accommodate a much larger venue .
For a Rock Band you need a set of these and a Good PA mixer for these so you can team up the pair and make tone adjustments along with flexibility for added speakers. These units do not have tone adjustments so you do your tweaking through your Mixer. Run mixer volume about 70% or less and let the LD's do the rest. I run the left main out to one tower and the right to the other......Awesome stereo sound.
We used this system the other night at a 100 seat bar & Grill with only one separate monitor for our drummer and it sounded great front to back. We had 3 vocals, 2 amps, and the drums ran through this with no stage monitors (other than drums) and we were fine. Great System, Great Value, Great Sound. I would recommend the maui 28 if you can afford it. I think the additional speakers will handle the abuse better over the long hall.

Comments about LD Systems Maui 11 G2 Powered - Installable Column PA System:

Very robust sound from this speaker column. Articulate, well balanced mids and highs. Very tight and punchy bass. No need for floor monitor (YMMV) which is a nice adjustment to make. Onboard dynamics processing but no FX which I feel is worth the "tradeoff" to put more money into sound quality. Sounds better than most if not all competitors. Would buy again for sure !
