From vocal takes and voiceover to acoustic instruments, drums and guitar amps, the Sontronics STC-2 Condenser Microphone Pack brings the essentials for a range of recording applications into one setup. At the center is the STC-2, a fixed-cardioid large-diaphragm condenser with a 20Hz–20kHz frequency response and Sontronics' smooth high-frequency roll-off for balanced, detailed capture. A switchable 75 Hz high-pass filter and -10dB pad help the mic adapt to different sources, while the included shockmount, pop filter, 16.4' (5 m) XLR cable and storage pouch round out the recording package.
Cardioid Capture Supports a Range of Studio Sources
The STC-2's fixed cardioid pattern focuses pickup toward the front of the microphone, while its large-diaphragm condenser design combines 20 mV/Pa sensitivity with an 18 B(A) equivalent noise level. Sontronics voices the mic with an evenly balanced frequency response and smooth high-frequency roll-off for defined lows and a detailed top end. The STC-2 is designed for sources ranging from sung and spoken vocals to acoustic guitar, piano, drums and other acoustic instruments, giving the pack flexibility across everyday recording sessions.
Filter and Pad Controls Adapt to Changing Sources
A 2-stage high-pass filter switches between linear response and a 75Hz setting, providing control over low-frequency content at the microphone. For louder sources, the pad switches between 0 dB and -10 dB, allowing the STC-2 to accommodate sources such as drums and guitar amps. With a maximum SPL of 125dB at 0.5% THD/1 kHz, the microphone can move between vocals, acoustic instruments and higher-level sources while keeping adjustment straightforward.
Included Accessories Round Out the Recording Pack
Sontronics equips the STC-2 Pack with a spider-style shockmount, pop filter, 16.4' XLR cable, zip-up storage pouch and 2 spare shockmount elastics, covering the core accessories for setup, connection and storage. The microphone connects over 3-pin XLR and requires 48V phantom power for operation. For home studios, education environments and other recording spaces that handle a varied mix of sources, the Sontronics STC-2 Condenser Microphone Pack combines a versatile large-diaphragm condenser with a practical set of recording accessories.
