I bought this powerd mixer thinking it wouldn't be powerful, but i was wrong!!it has amazing power for "300" watts and the headroom isn't too bad... i used it with 2 wharfedale-pro EVP 15 speakers (European brand) and the bass was really good, especially after i turned the "yamaha speaker processing" on, which gave it a real boost. you can aslo daisy chain spekers, and have a total of 8 speakers, which is a real advantage especially for monitoring i had 4 monitors and 3 mains at high power for about 2 1/2 hours which is both amps at 4 ohms and i had an extra mixer with 6 mics on it, with an other 4 in to the box and it sounded great! I also used it outside, it sounded very clean and was just loud enough. i would recommend it for meduim size venues, medium size bands, but if you use it outside you will need another amp.

Great Little Mixer

By Rockout

from Atlanta, GA

Our band has used this mixer for practice and small gigs for the last 6 months without a hitch. Mixer has plenty of power to push the JBL 15inch mains and 3 15-inch monitors! Nice effects and features for a 6 channel mixer. This is the perfect solution for small to medium gigs if you don't need more that 6 channels. Highly recommended.

Plays loud and clear in most medium sized rooms... great value... however, can't do anything too big with it.

Small to Medium room Dream

By Pablo

If you have a need for an all-in-one, light weight, small mixer/amp to cover mains & monitors...this is the one for you. Amazing power and versatility in such a small package. I use it for two 2-way 15" mains and four 2-way 10" monitors with a 5-piece band. In anything up to a medium size club it handles the room quite well. If you're running a heavy metal or large venue system I'd add a power amp for the mains. Otherwise, if 6 mics is all you need on vocals and instruments, this unit is all you need.

Good features, Great Sound

I purchased this PA for band practice in a moderate size room.(2000sq.ft) For its size and output it has ample power and usable effects. It easily handles 4 instruments and two mics and provides exceptional sound. This mixer could easily be used for small venues of any sort with no drawbacks.

I wish I could have afforded the next step up with three amps. Power is great. I could use at least one more pair of RCA input jacks. Great little mixer! I just used it for my company Christmas party in a 100'x200' room and it did great with playing cd's and kareoke.

Not Bad For Starters

By DanMan

from N/a

I have played on this head quite a few times, and the bottom line is simply that it is a great mixer for practice or small bands. It comes equipped with about twice as much power as it should for a 6 channeler, and offers extensive features like some dig effects and Eq controls, it would be great for later use as just a power amp to control the monitors. The only downside ive found is that the sound isnt particularly clean, just loud. Of course sometimes this is a good thing. lol ... Bottom line if your band is small, or if it is big and you need your vocals to roar over the tube amps and piccolo snares pick this one up it is a good value.

I've never had it so easy. If you gig on the weekends, or whenever and have a duo or trio or larger you need one of these! thanks yamaha!

This thing is great

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Our band used to be 4 people, a drummer, bassist, guitarist and vocalist. We didn't have amps so we all plugged into this PA. This thing is a tough little piece of machinery. We all were able to hear ourselves above the drums and we stayed like this until we got a full time bassist and moved our bassist to guitar and everyone got amps. I personally love this thing and would recommend it to anyone who's in a band. It's definitely loud enough for 2 mics and a keyboard.

This thing is amazing. I dont know why it is, but it is. Its definetly powerful enough to use for practice and small shows, and I currently have 2 monitors that i put on. Sound is great, features are great, and power is great. Overall, its a great piece of equipment.

Powerful and Tough

By Gearhead Dad

from NY

I bought this PA head for my sons' (one guitarist, one drummer) three piece rock group three years ago. Partnered with two Madison MAD212s at 4ohms each it kicks butt! I run 300 watts into each for a total of 600 watts out front. More than enough power for even a pretty large venue. When the boys insisted they needed monitors, I added a small Gem amp and some 10" cabs and fed these from the "monitor out" on the front panel. OK, most impressive, is the abuse this amp takes. It has been giged widely by a bunch of spoiled teens with a gearhead for a dad, and has withstood a decent trashing to no ill effect. At this time, it (and the Madisons) are serving duty as a DJ and house band system for my son's college fraternity and still going strong.
