Taylor manufactures a wide range of product lines, in which the Taylor 400 Series is right around the middle. That makes these guitars excellent choices for professional musicians looking to balance performance with affordability, and of course, they come loaded with all the usual Taylor exclusives, including the Expression System pickups (on acoustic-electric models) and the full-fretboard-length NT neck. Each series of Taylor guitars has a few distinguishing features that set it apart from the others. For the 400 Series, those include the combination of an Ovangkol back and sides with a Sitka spruce top on all models, as well as all-over gloss finishes. The result of this combo is a broad tonal spectrum with lots of midrange sparkle, suitable for a huge variety of musical and playing styles. And to take the versatility even further, they've made lots of different body sizes available in the 400 Series, too.
For example, you could go for the Taylor 400 Series 410ce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar for a dreadnought workhorse, or opt for more classical shapes like the 412ce Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar, 416ce Grand Symphony Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar or 414ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar. These are the best sellers for their respective shapes, but they're only the beginning of what's here to choose from. Because no two players have the exact same playing style and tonal preferences, finding the right Taylor 400 Series guitar for your own tastes is totally up to you. The good news is that Taylor is well aware of how unique each guitarist is, so they've created a lineup with lots of variety that should offer every player a perfect fit. All you have to do is browse the options here until you find it, and then you'll be all set.
