I've hidden a Scotty's pickholder behind the headstock of every guitar I've bought for the past twenty years because there's basically nothing else. Sure, they get stuck sometimes and no, they're not big enough to hold the large triangle-type pics or ultra-thick Stubbies, but they get the job done. The little patch of double-sided sticky tape is strong, but not so strong that you can't remove it carefully and it's pretty gentle on the finish, considering. That said, I'd love to see a slightly more polished version of this product, but it's practical and you feel like a magician everytime a pick appears in your hands out of nowhere.
It's like a spring-loaded coin-changer only for picks. Holds four 2.0mm Tortexes comfortably, or more thinner picks. Double-sided sticky tape on back allows ease of mouting.
As has been mentioned, there's some rough edges on the spring-platform internally that cause these things to stick a bit - at least, when they're new and haven't had a chance to wear down. So, they can be a little finicky at times but over time they become like buttah.
A cheap impulse buy at checkout that's worth it.

I mean one can't help but press down just a little to slide the pick out, and it gets hung up on the frame. Soooo... I will have to get a little file and bevel it so the pick'll slide out... very delicate work on the order of jewlery design and execution!.. then there's the risk of cutting my virtuoso fingers and getting plasticine dust from the filings... cancerous infection or particulate matter into the bloodstream... may not manifest for years.. then who do I sue? Scotty Pick Holder Incorporated?... Eric Holder,LLC?....
nice little item... very inexpensive... will be handy but... I 'm a thicker picker and they load in nicely but the ridge at the top blocks pick removal.
seems like good quality black plastic.. possibly the same material used in vinyl record pressing... they have beaten obsolete recording media not into plowshears but into pickholders! Amen!
two fweaking bucks and I think shipping was negligible... and still got here very fast!

Comments about Dunlop Scotty Pick Holder:

I stuck one of these on the back of my guitar and bass heads. Just reach out and grab a pick. Mine holds 7 medium picks for the guitar and 5 heavy picks for the bass. Plenty of on-board picks for a practice session, jam or gig. Great item.
So simple yet so useful.
Well made, good adhesive.
Great price for such a useful item.

Comments about Dunlop Scotty Pick Holder:

Does what it does. Only thing I wish is that it wasn't so big. A standard size pick kinda flops around in it to much. If you use oversized picks then I think it would be just fine.

Comments about Dunlop Scotty Pick Holder:

A friend told me that I could buy one of these gizmo's at Musicians Friend so I took his advise and bought one along with some picks that I needed. It holds 12 thin picks so I was happy withthe amount it could store. For the price, conveience, quality, well worth buying one.

Comments about Dunlop Scotty Pick Holder:

Installation is easy, just peel the cover off the tape and stick the holder wherever you want. I put mine on the back of my guitar. The tape holds stronge and does not budge. It holds about 6 picks at a time.

Comments about Dunlop Scotty Pick Holder:

I own three of the previous version of this pick holder and they work fantastically. I bought two of these and neither one worked. I tried thin picks through Stubby's, but no luck, the picks got stuck.

Comments about Dunlop Scotty Pick Holder:

It holds my picks just fine with no issues & they are easy to get in-n-out. True.....depending upon the thickness of your Pick (I keep 7 in mine) it will hold only so many. For what it's designed for I feel that it is a good buy & it does the job!

Comments about Dunlop Scotty Pick Holder:

Does exactly what it should. I use the Tortex .88mm picks, and it will hold 6 of them. Good product, I stuck it to the side of my Crate head. It looks cute there (:
Lightweight, durable, compact. Serves its purpose well. Pick can get stuck on the inner edge, but never creates an issue. If you push the pick out by the center, closer to the tip, it is not an issue. It is a little bigger than I thought it would be, so don't count on concealing it on the back of your guitar's headstock.
The adhesive is very strong, and easy on surfaces. Spring is strong enough, and everything does what it should.
      Very inexpensive, very functional.

      Scotty Pick Holder

Comments about Dunlop Scotty Pick Holder:

I have one of these pick holders on each guitar stap I own. It's the best way to keep your picks together with the guitar. They are easy to install on the strap but sometimes you'll have to superglue it on the strap since the double sided tape will not stick. I don't recommend sticking them on the guitar.

      Amazing

Comments about Dunlop Scotty Pick Holder:

Wow. I love these things. I have one for each of my four guitars. I use the adhesive tape on the back to stick them on the backs of the heads of each guitar. and when I sold one of my guitars and bought a new one, I peeled the pick holder off, and it came off extraordinarily clean. THen I just stuck it on my new one. Only 3 problems: 1. If you buy them at your local music store, they cost like $3 more. 2. If you treat it roughly, the black pick shaped plastic piece attached to the spring will start to come off. 3. If you are a person with tons of picks and you want to fit tons of picks in a single spot, this is not for you. It holds about 4-7 picks, depending on your thickness of picks. But for a garage band lead guitarist who just wants his picks to stick with him, it's the perfect companion.

Comments about Dunlop Scotty Pick Holder:

Dunlop Ergo is a much better pickholder in my opinion.
Holds 7 .88 tortex sharps but I think the Dunlop Ergo is a much better pickholder. Looks big enough to fit triangle picks as well but don't have any to test myself.
A tad on the flimsy side.
Does the job and for the cost? Can't really complain!

Works well. The only thing I see wrong with it is the adhesive on the back because you can really only apply it maybe one or twice. But other than that it holds picks real nicely and sticks on to what ever surface you want
