'Eh, this is a real review for this product, not just another "plagerized" copy from abother site. yea i got this amp. sweet buy, the only problem with it is the imput. they got a cheep stock versoin one imput- basic standered for most amps. Since it's made of plastic it's the first thing that's going to brake on this amp. I guess that's what i got for buying a amp make in China- of well...it wont brake on all amps. Besides that this amp is almost great! There's no warning light when your about to overload the amp with too much power so it just turns off.....NOT GOOD when your playing live proformaces...thanks ALESIS. But This Amp Packs The Power it is said to put out. I play in my room. It's in the patio conecting to the garage wich has a door leading into the house. But from that, the garage leads to a solid wood garage door, "yea getto tell me about it" 3/4inch ply-wood. But when a cops sitting in his car in front of my house, he doesn't hesitate to tell me he can hear me playing with his car still running and the radio turned on and him still inside. The presets are what you would exspect them to be, there all right. But after you start creating and modifying your own settings You can make this Amplifyer sound however you want! It's a great amp! i bought this amp a few years ago and at first i thought is was really great. But after a while it started losing its edge. the effects arent as great as they should be but the cleans is pretty nice. after a while the input broke and you pretty much had to hot glue the thing to keep it from movin. It buzzes really bad and it usually shovels out a lot of feedback. I would not consider buying this because you can get a better amp for the same price.

Excellent

This was my first large amp, and it does the trick. It has an endless selection of onboard distortion, that genuinely sounds good, particularly ''Orly Blues'' and ''60's Clean Slap''. This is an extremely loud amp, certainly loud enough for a relatively large gig, and it is sturdy.

Ok... I'm a bass player who plinks on Guitar

By Bassman13

Very pleased with this amp. Build Quality: had to tighten up several screws including all on the lower back panel to get rid of the buzz. After that no more buzz. The knobs and input jacks are not metal like my Peavey Basic 60 so as long as you don't abuse your equipment you should be fine. Overall the sound of this amp is fantastic. I use a jagmaster and a 28.5" scale strat baritone Bass VI with this amp. This is an open back amp so the low E on my baritone (6 string short scale bass) is weak however an A-A tuned baritone would do quite well with it.Sound: Here this amp shines. I can get a good acoustic sound from my jagmaster as well as a wide variety of crunch and distorted sounds. The amp sustains nicely and is quiet. One thing I did notice with this amp is that the humbuckers on my Jagmaster and Double Fat Strat baritone had to be lowered to overcome the very audible breakup in the preamp even with compression or limiting on (limiting helped a lot but did not completely get rid of this). As an electronics tech for over 20 years I found even when driving an external bass cab and pushing the low end hard this amp stayed cool. Most excellent. Additionally, the power transformer is mounted outside and below the main electronics chassis which is helpful in reducing hum and noise.Hope this helps ... hasta

Kickass amp for low $$$

By Rich from Raymond

When I first received the amp, I considered returning it for replacement or buying a different amp because the headphone jack didn't work. Went as far as having MF email me return postage. However, I liked the features on the Alesis 60 so much compared to what else was available (even for 2-3 times the price) that I decided to live with the inoperative headphone jack. Eventually, I came to the realization the problem was likely a poor electrical connection with the headphone plug. I stuck tweezers in the jack hole and very slightly bent a couple of the connectors (not recommended)and the headphones then worked fine. Aside from that small problem, this amplifier is fantastic. The many different affects/modes are amazing, plus the programability for your own custom sound. I have many guitars, some of which are inexpensive and don't sound all that great through my other amps. With this amp's effects and sound quality, you can make a clunker sound rich and full! I also use the stereo hookup feature in conjunction with either of the two amps I already have - a 25 watt Gorilla and 15 watt Crate. Can't recommend this amp enough - works great, very good quality and a hell of a buy. Gotta be one of the best bargains in the guitar universe. Go for it!

Awsome Amp

By IbanezguitarFRIEK

from Richmond, KY

I got this amp as a late christmas gift and I love it. You CAN get any sound out of it you want...anything from clean acustic to punk to metal it can handle it all. Don't be fooled by its 60W handling cause you can crank it up plenty loud, infact i start drowning out my drummer at half way up. And for small gigs and clubs just buy a second and link them together. 60w+60w=120w total of stero ampage. GET IT.

Plastic input jacks break easily

By musicguy-x1X7m

My son has owned this model for 2.5 months. It seemed like a good deal, although the effects are not easy to adjust/set. Yesterday, while inserting his guitar cord, the input jack shattered -- it is made of PLASTIC! How much did Alesis save by not using metals parts?

Great for the money

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I hooked this sucker up in stereo with a little Marshall, and the sound was unbelievable. Used a ProCo Rat for the distortion, and the amp(s) came alive...like a huge stack, but mini in size. The effects are handy, and the clean sound is very good. Hope it holds up, as I really like the setup I have now using this in combo with my other small amp.

Had one

There are alot of neat effects packed into this little amp. Alesis excels in this department. But, the Chinese manufacturing sticks out like a turd in a punch bowl if you turn it up much above 2 or 3. It will get loud but it just can't produce that deep, defined crunch I like. Maybe it's the light weight speaker but it just has no balls. Save your money and get a Marshall or a Randall.

GREAT EFFECTS!!!

By Anonymous-W1b2t

Bang for the buck, you won't beat it. It has enough volume to make venues with 'monitors'. By the way, I know why they market it to as a 'practice amp'. So you can't bash them if isn't loud enough for people that never play real clubs with PA systems. Pro's who are out there just trying to make it through the gigs as painless as possible, this is an all in one box you can do it with (yeah, you need the expression pedal). Reverb is top notch. Envelop filter works well. I don't believe 'any' cab simulator claim but this thing has a useable 'wide' sound that works. This amp is QUIET!!! Cranked up on a clean channel it is AMAZING. The distortion is another story, it does well though. Any distortion patch is going to make some noise anyways. Now, the only complaint I have is that there isn't exactly a 'rectifier' patch. Okay, guess I will look for an old Hafler T2 or a Rocktron Gainiac-That'll fix that........

it was horrible

By TJ-ihstA

from Stratford

The only good thing about this amp was the choice of distortions. Eventually the sound became very fuzzy, and lossed its heavey distortion, and good clean. It broke after having it for only a week, probaly because the input jacks were plastic, and it broke a few more times because of that. I wouldnt recommend this for any type of show.

Alesis 60

By SuperDave-Pt2bU

from Wheatfield, IN

I received my Alesis 60 about two weeks ago. It seems to be very well constructed. I would recommend the foot switch and effect pedal as an option otherwise it is hard to handle (too many options and variations). The only fault that I can relay is a slight buss at high volumn in distortion. It will blow you away in a clean setting at only a medium volumn. I hooked a 60 amp Crate to it and the stereo is great. The options are unlimited. In the two weeks that I have owned the amp, I have only skimmed the surface of the available possibilities.

Good Practice Amp

Good overall tone. The distortion is muddy as heck... yet the clean is very good sounding. It's easy to crank it up on the clean channel and just play away. It's hard to distinguish notes, however, when you have the amp's distortion on.It's a good beginner practice amp at a very cheap price.

Wildfire no blazing, but pretty hot

By hellraid1

from Near Cleveland Oh.

I am an experienced guitar player who grew up listening to guitarists who like myself actually know how to play. I have a Crate 65W dsp amp and picked up the alesis because it was CHEAP and it was CHEAP. It sounded pretty good the effects are top notch what you would expect out of a Crate or Line 6 amp. That being said I am having trouble getting a crunchy overdrive outa this thang but I am still trying to figure it out as it is a little complicated. I love the Tolex Enclosure and the gray and black face look very modern.I love this amp It won't kick a** with pantera but its a great amp.
