OVERVIEW

Versatile stereo sound and effects at an amazing value.

The ID:Core 20 V2 is a 2x10 W ultimate entry-level guitar amplifier. Incredible tone and flexibility is accessed by a simple and intuitive control set and delivered in SUPER WIDE STEREO to give an immersive playing experience that will have you hooked on playing guitar.

ID:Core V2 represents the culmination of more than nine years’ technical research and development. These amps have an intuitive control set like a traditional amp, but have the versatility of programmability. The unique controls allow you, the guitarist, to custom design your own sound. The unique and enhanced Voice control has six different channels — Clean Warm, Clean Bright, Crunch, Super Crunch, OD 1, OD 2. When used together with Blackstar's patented ISF control you can get the exact tone you're thinking of. The effects section delivers studio quality modulation, delay and reverb effects simultaneously that you can store with your sound.

Deep editing and storing of patches is simple using the Blackstar INSIDER software. Patches can be shared, uploaded and downloaded via the online community. The USB connector also allows you to record from your amp directly to your computer; new USB 2.0 functionality makes for easier recording and reamping, plus the ability to record just the preamp out for adding your own effects and cabinet emulation in the DAW/post-processing. An emulated output, MP3/line input and inbuilt panel-accessible tuner complete the package.

Adding to this, the inclusion of Presonus’ renowned Digital Audio Workstation software Studio One, gives you all the tools at your disposal for ultimate creative autonomy.

By using the unique Voice control and the patented ISF, ID:Core Series amplifiers allow unparalleled flexibility and ease of use, enabling you to design the sound in your head and deliver it at home, in the studio or in rehearsal.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 20 V2 20W Digital Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a great amp for the money and you will not be disappointed if you buy it. The V2 version comes with Presonus DAW so it's a terrific value added item so you can mix and create music of your own. The effects are super good and it's very easy to dial in the tone that's in your head. I would have liked a numbering system to be added to the knobs so you can accurately record the different levels that you select. Having said that I just take a quick picture on my smartphone and catalog them with the different levels that I select. This is not a very loud amp at least not as loud as my Fender Mustang. I typically have the volume level maxed out at 10. You can get a louder level if you increase the gain but if you want a cleaner sound then it's still very adequate for playing at home. The connectivity to the Blackstar online community is great and the downloads are super quick and very easy if you like a patch developed by someone else on the community. The clean warm sound is my favorite and the clean bright. The ISF knob is effective and I have not really played with the online control knobs so you can easily get a great tone without having to be connected to your computer. The amp is small enough to fit on a filing cabinet but it packs a punch in terms of the stereo effects that you get. What I really like about this amp is how easy it is to get great jazz and blues tones so quickly and easily. Love this amp and great value for the money. Buy it as you will not regret it.

Sounds ok, rattles a bit. INSIDER is weak, cannot save volumes in patches, which means if using a foot switch (which is 40 money ! ) and switch between dirty and clean... its useless because you still have to go the amp and manually turn up the volume on the clean, or manually turn down the dirty channel.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 20 V2 20W Digital Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this as a travel amp to play at friends houses. The reviews were all positive so I gave it a try. I should've known better about digital amps. After 5 minutes of playing I boxed it back up and called Musicians Friend to return it. The sound quality is very poor. It just seems like a toy to me. I ordered the HT-1R, a little more money but tube amps are real sounding.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 20 V2 20W Digital Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

Bought it for the sole purpose as a practice amp. Great sound and although this model only stores 6 patches, unlimited number of patches are available when connected via USB to your computer and controlled through the included software. Very clean sound and very quite when not playing through it ( no hum or buzz like a lot of other low-priced amps of this type). In my opinion, this is not an amp to plug in an external effect pedal, there is no insert jack and the voicing can not be shut off therefore any external pedal placed inline will not sound correct but again this amp has plenty of patch options.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 20 V2 20W Digital Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

I am really impressed with the tone and flexibility of this small amp. I mostly play thin body acoustic/electric guitars (Godin and Ovation) so I have several acoustic/electric amps (Genz Benz, Roland, Ibanez). Recently I decided to spend more time developing my electric chops. To get a good sound out of my1975 Fender Princeton Reverb tube amp I have to turn it up beyond comfortable levels in my studio. The Blackstar lets me get a really good sound at a much lower volume level. I am now considering trading in my Princeton and getting a larger Blackstar for playing in church. It is amazing how they can get such a terrific sound out of a small amp with inch speakers.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 20 V2 20W Digital Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

I was tired of moving my super heavy 2x12 combo amp around and was looking for a light and portable amp that was easy to move and play in any room. This is PERFECT. Small and easy to move yet it turns up loud enough to really feel the tones but not too loud where you might upset the neighbors.
