OVERVIEW

A no-frills tone monster for the studio or practice.

The timeless design and sound of the all-tube amp has made its indelible mark on countless beloved tracks spanning the history of the electric guitar. With the ultimate pursuit of those wonderfully saturated and buttery vintage tones in mind, Bugera proudly presents the Vintage V5 Infinium.

Sporting a gorgeous vintage look and feel, the V5 serves up 5 beautiful, tube-soaked, Class-A Watts in all your favorite flavors through an amazing, class-leading 8" Turbosound speaker. Additionally, the Vintage V5 Infinium features an integrated high-definition Reverb; a built-in 2-way Power Attenuator, so you can achieve the ultimate sound at any volume “ and an extremely versatile Vintage Equalizer with Tone control for sculpting the sound of your dreams. Enhancing the flexibility of this do-it-all combo, our revolutionary Infinium Tube Life Multiplier Technology makes tube replacement incredibly simple “ so you can spend more time playing your music.

Classic All-Tube Design
The Vintage V5 Infinium features true Class-A technology with a 12AX7 front-end and an EL84 power stage. A masterfully crafted all-tube combo amplifier, the V5 provides sweetly-balanced harmonics and natural tube compression, resulting in the warm distortion and break-up you™ve come to appreciate from those vintage megaliths of yesteryear “ only in a much more portable and attractive package. The hand-selected 12AX7 preamp tube in V5' classic '60s-era preamp provides everything from sweetly-purring blues to mind - blowing crunch. Often employed in British-style amplifiers, the EL84 output tube is known for its crisp and chiming tonal quality when pushed to the max, and the V5 harnesses that power via the built-in power attenuator “ for the ultimate guitar tone at any volume level.

High-Definition Reverb
Adding to its impressive list of tone-shaping options, the Vintage V5' high-definition Reverb puts the perfect finishing touch to your signature sound. Adjustable via the dedicated control on the front panel, you can finally achieve any sound you desire “ from a subtle touch to the cavernous, natural-sounding reverberation of a large arena.

Infinium Tube Life Multiplier Technology
Years in the making, Bugera's Infinium Tube Life Multiplier Technology can extend the usable lifespan of your amplifier's expensive power valves by up to 20 times, saving you huge money and ensuring the integrity of your tone. How? This revolutionary circuit automatically and continuously monitors the performance of each output tube, and dynamically drives it towards the target operating point, for an evenly distributed load.

Infinium also compensates for the effects of aging, automatically adjusting current levels to keep your tubes sounding as good as new “ even when AC line voltages drop below nominal levels. Similar technology has been used for decades in all-wheel drive cars, where systems modulate the power going to each wheel to improve traction. Just consider Infinium Series amps "4-wheel drive" for your guitar.

Infinium Series amps take all the guesswork out of tube replacement by illuminating an LED next to a tube that is reaching the end of its usable lifespan. And thanks to Infinium's Auto-Bias design, you simply replace the indicated tube “ without a trip to the repair shop, saving you even more money.

Available exclusively from Bugera, Infinium Tube Life Multiplier Technology is a major breakthrough in amplifier design and manufacture, providing incredible reliability for your stage performance and more consistent sound over the lifespan of your tubes. Since they are always operating at optimal levels, your output tubes perform more predictably and last much longer, thanks to Bugera's marvelous Infinium Technology, saving you some serious money.

I was looking for a small, simple, quality amp.that fit my needs and this is it. Quite often I would pick up my strat. while my wife was asleep and play without amp. Now I can plug in and keep the volume low and get a descent sound. It takes up little space, very portable, sounds good, simple to use and is a very pretty little unit next to my creme colored strat.

I very much wanted to like this amp. I had read reviews that said it was on the dark or muddy side, but figured my Telecaster could overcome that. Well, I was wrong. This amp was dull, muddy and lifeless sounding to me. It didn't have that tube clear-ness/snap to it at all. My Tele didn't sound Tele-ish even with the tone on full treble and my tone controls maxed. Oh well, never know until you try. I sent it back within a week of fiddling with it. Should've stuck with my gut and got the Vox Ac4 but was trying to save some cash. A problem easily rectified.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Can't say enough good things about the Bugera V5 Infidium. The vintage design is stunning and well executed with quality materials. The three power options offer great versatility and the amplified sound is to die for. Makes even the cheapest electric guitars sound wonderful. I just use it at home where I play for my own enjoyment so I can't comment on gig worthiness. I have a Marshall MG30FX and a Fender Champion 40, both solid state, but they can't compare to the tube sound of the Bugera whether I'm playing my Fender Strat, Tele or Les Paul Melody Maker.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Since I'm hauling an amp in/out of my car trunk 3-5 times a week, I wanted a very lightweight option for my aging bones.

This Bugera 5W comes pretty close to fitting the bill, tho' I wish it were perhaps a 10W.

My standard "go to" amp is the Blues Jr. BJR is relatively light...nice tone, pretty loud, too loud for some venues and overkill for rehearsals.

The beauty of the 5W is that you can saturate the tubes without garnering the dreaded "you're too loud".

The Bugera 5W looks good and has some really cool features. There's a built-in attenuator that let's you drop down to 1W and even 1/10 of a Watt.
These are actually useful settings, at least until the 2nd guitar player arrives.

Also, there's an external spkr jack that disables the internal 4-Ohm speaker. Just for fun, I plugged it into a 2x12 cab w/ a 4-Ohm load. Worked fine...though dragging a 2x12 to use w/ this little amp somewhat defeats the purpose of "light/compact".

Bottom line, it ain't gonna replace the Blues Jr but I think I'm gonna keep it. If they can't hear me, maybe they don't need to, and/or maybe the rest of the crew just needs to turn down.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I've used this w/a strat, tele and Epi dot. Unlike the reviewer who said it sounds dead lifeless or what not, I found it to sound pretty good. I don't know if that guy got a bad unit or what but I don't agree w/ his review of the little amp. It is limited on tone controls, but I didn't mind that so much it has a nice warm sound in my opinion. If your looking for a really bright amp then it's prolly not for you, but its a good little tube amp for a nice price!✌

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Very warm sound, a bona fide tube amp for sure. Breaks up nicely with gain maxed out. True, it is not a crisp clear sound. But the sound it does produce is still pleasant. Awesome value for the money. Looks great too. Headphone jack is a plus, and the sound through headphones is good. The reverb is not cheap sounding, it's pretty usable. It's also pretty loud, and the wattage switch is a feature that adds a lot of value.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

After two weeks of playing, I conclude that the amplifier is perfect in this price range. It sounds beautifully, warm and clean. Many users complain that the sound is a bit muffled. At the beginning I felt it a little bit, but after a few days my ears became accustomed. In my opinion this can be corrected any kind of stomp box. Most importantly, the amplifier provides clear dynamic lines 100% tube sound. Just lighten the tone in the stomp box, and the problem instantly disappears. The amplifier is amazing built, has a solid look and commands respect. Really it is what the eye hang. Appearance allows the legs - positively. It works perfectly with all kinds of stomp box I use. I plug-in Small Clone Chorus, Hustle Drive, DS-1, TC Electronics Delay and sound breaks the eggs. Very well done to limit the power to 1W and 0.1W. Very nice option for someone who likes to play at night. Personally, I am very happy with the sound and appearance of this amplifier. Looks beautiful, plays professionally and is an excellent choice for musicians who are looking for a fairly loud amplifier for little money. Previously, I played Marshall DSL5C , who did not sound quite good as Bugera. I was very disappointed with this amplifier, but after buying Bugery I can finally enjoy the full and beautiful sound.

This amp is built like a tank.Reverb is pretty good as well.I didn't go into this purchase expecting a perfect amp for this price point but I would bet it would go toe to toe with similar amps that cost more.I thought the tone was pretty good. What I would change if possible is to have a separate treble and bass control. It is also a heavy little unit but that's probably due to good construction.

I love this little tube amp. Break the speaker in and it has warm, vintage tones. It's 5W, but can be switched to 1W or .1W for bedroom practicing. It sounds great and the built in reverb is even excellent. I play this amp 75% of the time I play and couldn't enjoy it more!

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I wanted a cheap tube practice amp. This is that, and it's pretty nice. But, i just felt that the sound was too muddy, and it drove me nuts. I ended up putting JJs in, replacing the Bugera speaker with a Weber, and having a tech add a treble boost to the circuit. Now I like it much better, but it cost me as much as a Blues Jr. So, not worth it.

If you can deal with the muddy sound, I thinks it's fine.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This is my only Tube Amp (still playing with my Fender Mustang 4), and discovered my "Classic V" Hummers on my Epiphone Firebird make this Amp really "bark" nice. I read other reviews where Single Coils were used with less success, so maybe its a Tube Saturation issue? Just a discovery.

Also, has anyone attached a Cabinet to the Speaker Output Jack? This Amp is 4 Ohms, so may have to be a Re-Wire on the Cabinet (Tubes don't like Impedance Mismatch). I wanna attach a 4x8" (10" ?) Cab for Blues. Speakers 15W x 4=60W. I was told a 4x12" "might not respond well" with only 1 Power Tube in this Amp. Comments very welcome (I'm a Solderer, not Engineer, lol).

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I really like the amp but for that darn buzzing noise. Love the reverb, and all the other features. I would say though, that for some people, depending on their style and venue may want more headroom. It does have a lot of bang for the buck.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Great little amp for practice/personal use. I use it in my living room and I really like the wattage adjustment. I can turn it to .1 w when wife is in bed and still get a good sound out of it. At 5 watts it is quite loud for regular home use. Clean and distorted tones sound great. Distortion won't quite get into the metal zone without a pedal but it does give a great AC/DC rock sound. Overall, I think this makes for a fine practice/home use amp. It sounds great, plenty loud yet sounds really good when turned down, very affordable and looks/feel like a quality unit. Highly recommended if you are looking for an affordable practice amp.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I'm a guitar-a-holic and I own...and have hot-rodded...a monarch's ransom worth of guitars and amps over the past 40 years. That probably makes me just like some of you (laugh). For quite a while, I didn't like the V5 Infinium...and I wrote a negative review of the thing which MF hasn't published. It's just as well. I've now hit upon the right mix of parts and I really do like it. Out of the box, the V5 is dull and lackluster (meaning my hot-rodded Pignose G20s sound better). But after much trial and error, the following tweaks make the V5 more than worthwhile. First, replace the Turbosound OEM motor (nothing special) with either a Jensen P8R Alnico 4-ohm for a 'Tweedy" sound, or a Eminence Patriot 820H 4-ohm for a 'bluesy' sound. Then yank the Bugera (Chinese) glass and install a JJ LONG PLATE 12AX7 pre-amp tube and a Mullard power tube (you can just drop them in without re-biasing). At this point, the V5 comes alive. Is it worth the effort? Please consider: the V5 is remarkably affordable. And MF can supply most of the additional parts. When the dust settles, you'll have a wonderfully expressive practice amp (not suitable for recording due to its inherent, low-level hiss (as repeatedly documented on the Web)). But what's wrong with that? Practice amps are all about tone and creativity. And a hot-rodded V5 fills this bill with class to spare.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Amp seems to be built like a tank. Good features for a small portable practice amp. Speaker sounds harsh at first but starts to smooth out after a few hours of playing. I would probably really like this little amp but am comparing to a '58 Fender Champ clone that I built from a kit. The Champ has far better sound (not boxy like the Bugera), but then the Champ kit cost twice as much as the Bugera and I had to put it together myself. Maybe swapping speakers would cure the Bugera. Am strongly considering sending it back though.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this V5 amp a while ago and I liked it, really well built too, but thought it was kind of dark sounding, and the bass strings would sound flappy at higher volumes. I replaced the speaker with a 4 ohm Jensen C8R (available here at Musicians Friend) and wow! What a difference! Now it's a really great little amp that I use all the time. It's got plenty of crunch when the preamp tube knob is cranked, and nice smooth real tube tones when it isn't. The reverb is digital though, but sounds nice. The amp is definitely worth the price, but you gotta swap out that stock speaker.
