i got this amp 2 years ago for christmas and i have to say, i have never once been disappointed with this amp. there were times when i wish i had the 100 watt amp, but if you don't have the extra cash for it, then this is the way to go. this amp has a few features, including mid-scoop (for more slap/pop sounds), a 4 band EQ, and a red light on the bottom that goes on when you play. this amp is loud enough to play with a garage band and still sound good. it has the ability to go from bright, punchy sounds to deep, smooth sounds. the only thing i would want is a second speaker option. over all, if you need a mid-range amp, BUY THIS AMP NOW.

I'm a beginning bass player (I've been playing Guitar for almost 25 years). I was looking for an amp in the Rumble 60's price range, with a line out, and decided on this one. I thought the sound was very good. I wanted to use the amp as a monitor, while plugged into the PA but it didn't work out. It's not loud enough to be heard with the PA cranked up. Although I'm disappointed about that, I'm not going to return the Rumble 60, because it sounds great while practicing at home. I recommend it for this. Smaller amps (<60 watts) didn't sound good, and would distort quickly as volume levels increased. Ampeg combo amps were also recommended to me, but the ones I tried didn't impress me that much. I suggest trying several amps over multiple store visits and days. If you decide on the Rumble 60, you will not be disappointed.

i forgot to mention this in my other review. The red lights at the bottom are really cool. but be careful if you have mice. A mouse craweled up inside the little gap for the lights once. but i just played really lud and scared him out.

A great little amp

By Bassist-Fender

from Miami, FL

This is easy to carry, and is great at small gigs or a band practice. I used this at my local music store, AMAZING. There aren't that many knobs but If you play around with it you should be able to get the sound your looking for. I recommend this to anyone looking for a step up from a practice amp.

Upright sounds great thru it....

By BullFiddler666

from the Road

I play an upright bass thru it and it sounds great. Alot fuller and warmer tone than comparable/cheaper amps. Still picks up my taps and doesn't overpower amplified guitar or fiddle. Also very portable for a travelling band.

Ok well I bought this amp used and holy Bazeeeze it's awesome. I mean I couldn't have bought a better amp for what I am doing right now. I am in a band and the other two guitarists just have these little 15 20 w amps that are loud but not that loud mine just helps along that much more because of the good bass sound quality and the mid scoop is awesome. Complaints absolutely none I love this amp to the very end.

This is a really good step-up amp. It's got a lot of very useful, cool features and the 4-band EQ is great to have. The only problem is that the sound can get muddy/distorted at high volumes, but other than that, no complaints.

crackerjack bass combo

I was looking for a bass combo that I could take to our local sportsman club and community center jam sessions where most of the instruments are accustic with a couple accustic-electric guitarsthrown in. No drums are present. When I got to the Rumble 60, WOW! Even my band singers wife was impressed! The Viola and Rumble 60 are a wonderful blend. It sure beats lugging my SWR rig around and provides plenty of good tone. All the fellow musicians feel the same as I do. I purchased the Rumble 60 for a designated job and it does it just fine. Good job, Fender!

I own it and use it weekly. It's a great amp for the money. I've recommended it to others. I play deep country western swing and find the tones most acceptable for small to medium size gigs. I mic for larger areas through the PA. Have had no problems whatsoever.

Awesome Amp

I'm am really pleased with this amp. It hasn't let me down yet. I compared it to my old bass amp which is a Rogue 20 watt. The sound quality is way better for the Rumble 60. No regrets on buying this amp yet.

good for the price

i got this amp for christmas and it was pretty good. If you play with a drummer, you might want to get the 100 watt version. You can't really hear yourself play. But if you're a bass player who plays with a guitarist or just alone, this is your bass amp. The eq is good. I use a OLP MM-2 (musicman knock off) and it gets a really nice slap, punk, or funk sound. It's a good buy.

Great Amp

By Bassmasta6

from Oak Park

I also played in a band and used this rumble 60. It has great tone and is great for garage band use. The only problem I found was that sometimes the amp wasn't loud enough. This amp is great for beginning and serious bands, but when things get really serious get ready to buy a cab...your gonna need it

i got this for a discount at my local music shop, and i don't have ANY regrets. i read reviews on this sight and some people were saying how "it didn't have enough power" and stuff but let me tell you, at a school talent show or smallish sized gigs this is a great amp to have. i TOTALLY recommend it! it has a GREAT tone, nice features... GREAT price too!

Just got this little amp today and before purchasing it i had a chance to play on it at a local dealer. I plugged in with a rather pricy ibanez bass, tone was nice, and commplemented the tone of the amp. I was rather impressed! So a few weeks later i returned to the dealer where i saw this amp and bought it. It's a nice practice amp, just loud enought to be heard with a guitarist and a drummer(not a loud drummer). I would recommend this amp to someone whos just starting off, but if you have the extra cash go for the RUMBLE 100 and pass on the RUMBLE 60. but if you looking to spend a bit more i would recommend a BASSMAN 100, better tone, and more features! but I would rate this amp overall a 9 out of 10 for its pleasant tone which seems to cover both lows and highs very well, its quality, and for it's price.

I borrowed this amp from a friend who had kept it in mint condition to use at a few gigs. This amp is great for the price, even though I borrowed it. I'm an avid guitarist and I know the price of amps. Let me tell you, for around $250, this is the best amp. It's plenty loud, it has great Fender tone, and it's built strong. Our biggest gig with this amp was one we played March 18th in a big gym in front of several hundred people. We didn't mic the amp because we didn't need to. If you need a great amp for the price, get this Fender.

Great Bass Amp!

By Anonymous

This is an awesome deal from Fender. The tone of this amp is great. If you're looking to buy a practice/medium range amp, this is the one to get for the price. I just wish there was a bit more features and you could switch the lights off when you wanted. Overall, VERY pleased with my purchase.

Great amp!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I bought this amp as I was tired of lugging my 2 fifteens to my friends house to practice. It provides enough volume to compete with his 80 watt Marshall guitar amp, but I wouldn't recommend it for a live show. For that I'll use my fifteens. Only reason I gave it a 9 on features was because it doesn't have anything really fancy like a distortion switch, but oh well, not really necessary. Sounds awesome! I love this box! Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good practice amp.

Its good.

Nice amp. Cant say I'm disappointed. Its clear and nice. The only thing that brings this bass down is the lack of control of the tone. The most important thing about this amp is, even though its a bit heavy it can get through an acoustic drum set during practice. It can easily surpass the drum set and has no problems. If the drummer is play extra loud the volume may need to reach 80ish % but it plays well and clear.
