I traded into a Pathfinder 10 for almost nothing, beat up and ugly as a mud fence. But what tone! I previously fell in love with Vox when I bought a used 30 watt Valvetronics. I wasn't really expecting much with the little Pathfinder, but was I surprised! I love Fender amps and their cleans are the best. But the Vox amps I've tried have a character that is hard to describe, but I love it.

Make no mistake, if you want a cheap amp that sounds great and is built like a tank, the little Fenders are a best buy, and I recommend them. If you are willing to pay a little more the Vox Pathfinder just might be for you. No, it doesn't have reverb, but sometimes simple is a good thing. I don't know about reliability with this little Vox, but I just ordered a new one with the Union Jack because my used one is so ugly. I will keep it for parts if the new one should fail. Don't be alarmed though, the reviews are positive on these, including reliability. Best small amp for the money? I don't know. A ton of tone for the money spent? Absolutely.

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I needed a small amp for just fun playing time for myself....

This loyal amp will surprise you. Nice Vox chime, no heat ( solid state), no buzzing, strong musical voice and the 6.5" speaker is matched perfectly to the amp.

I bought the model with the Flag of Great Britain.......nice clean construction and if I get the urge to change the speaker, there is easy access thru the Open back

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have owned both tube and solid state amps. This is an excellent practice amp. Highly recommended. For the size and wattage, it's perfect for home jamming use. What is interesting about it is that it has a bit of tube-like responsiveness, depending on the amp settings. For that alone, it gets five stars. Very good practice amp.

This is a great little Vox practice and headphone amp that sounds Voxy despite being solid state. Put a Boss Blues Driver and a Boss 1963 Fender Reverb stomp with it and rock your face off!

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I was disappointed by this Vox Pathfinder Guitar Combo Amp. I could not get a clean, smooth sound on the clean channels for the jazz sound I wanted - there was too much noise. I returned it. If someone is buying this more for the heavy metal crunch sound, it may work for them.

For the price I figured I couldn't go wrong, right? What I got was great little practice amp that has a lot of tone crammed into a lunchbox-sized package. Nice clean channel with warmth. Punch the crunch and it does a good job. It's louder than I expected. A no muss, no fuss, portable amp that sounds pretty darn good.

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this and the Pignose at the same time, they're like night and day. This sits next to my JTM45 + Vox 2x12 Cabinet in my office and I play it just as often (since it's significantly less loud). I already knew I liked it playing it in a few stores but having it at home and being able to take my time and play through it, it's by far the best practice amp I've ever played through in this price range. The Pignose has its place, but this amplifier kills it. The bigger speaker 6.5" really makes a difference as well.

Another great Vox product. I recommend this to anyone that wants a good small practice amp that can actually get loud enough to anger your spouse/roommate/parents if you so desire. The warmth, clarity, and tone of this amp can't be beat for this size and price. BUY IT! Thanks Vox for another great amp.

Bought used. Was mint, pristine condition.
Great sound for small places. I live in a studio in a big city so was an ideal choice.
Nice warm tones. Use it with some distortion, chorus and wah and is not too noisy.
Also I gotta say it looks great. If you are on a budget is a great choice.

Clean warm tones, nice crunch, plenty loud enough for home use. Also sounds great when miked through my PA. Incredible value for the money.

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I needed a practice amp to save wear and tear on my Vox AC15 C1. You can dial in a bunch of different levels of gain. As a rule I use the gain channel on my 15 , however the clean sound on the Pathfinder is great. I find myself using it and my playing goes in a different direction than usual.....which can be a good thing.

LP standard guitar. Great sounds ! Buy one.
