Some of the best guitar amplifiers ever made have been the product of one committed builder churning away at premium boutique amps built by hand in a small repair shop. That's how Bruce Egnater started out, and the designs that he created have landed Egnater amplifiers onstage with music legends like Bruce Kulick, Keith Kane, Randy Scott and Richard Fortus. It was Bruce's passion for classic rock that led him to study engineering at the University of Detroit when off-the-shelf amplifiers just couldn't stack up to the tone of his rock idols. He resolved to build something that could, and in 1975, after completing his studies, he opened his own shop: the Amp Lounge, a name that soon became renowned in the Detroit music scene and beyond. It didn't take long for Egnater to start racking up firsts. Tinkering with ideas for building amps that would deliver tones no other amp could put out at the time, he pioneered innovations like the master volume control, high-gain and multi-channel tube amps and eventually his patented modular designs. In Egnater's modular amplifiers, the preamp section can easily be swapped out while leaving the power section untouched.

Since Egnater amplifiers are all designed by Bruce himself, they all share a certain signature character. However, each model is centered around a specific tone, which means that there is an Egnater for every sound. If you're into metal, for example, the 120W Armageddon amp head will provide the high gain and supreme clarity that you need with a simple layout that makes it quick to adjust from one extreme to the other. The Vengeance head is also a great choice for metal as well as classic and contemporary rock. The Renegade series are good choices for blues to rock sounds, and the Rebels make short work of any genre when you don't need the power as the bigger amps. Are you a jack of all trades? Check out the immensely versatile Tourmaster series or Egnater's signature Tweaker amps, which come with a bank of switches that lets you instantly switch voices between classic British, American and Vox AC30 tones, just to name a few.

Bruce Egnater could easily be called the king of modern tube amp design. Over the course of three decades, his work has completely changed the face of the guitar amp as we know it and it all comes together in the world-class amplifiers that come out of Egnater's factory every day.
