The most important material any drummer will learn.
The purpose of Rudimental Drum Method for the Intermediate Drummer by Joe Maroni is to acquaint elementary drum students with the 26 rudiments of drumming. Each rudiment requires the development of a particular sticking, stick motion, stick height, and rhythm pattern. The capability to play the 26 drum rudiments provides the student with the skill and technique necessary to play advanced drum pieces, pursue other styles of drumming, and to proceed on to a higher level of learning. All 26 original drum rudiments are clearly and sequentially presented. There are several drumming exercises designed to develop each rudiment, then each rudiment is used in a musical context in several progressively written rudimental rhythm studies. Also, at the end of this drumming book, there are 7 rudimental snare drum solos appropriate for band tryouts and junior high contests. This is the follow-up to Fundamentals of Rhythm for the Drummer.
