OVERVIEW

A tight, bright backbeat with throwback styling.

The True-Sonic Collector's Series Snare from DW gives a nod to the past and a look to the future with its chrome-over-brass beaded shell and familiar Snare Bridge. The True-Sonic boasts a 1mm rolled brass shell that is outfitted with custom integrated snare beds, MAG throw-off system, True-Pitch tuning, True-Tone snare wires, 3.0 steel True Hoops, and DW Heads by Remo USA.

The cast metal Snare Bridge is an adjustable, pre-tensioned snare wire system that allows the strands to evenly lift against the surface of the snare head to provide added sensitivity and concert snare-like performance. The 14 x 5" drum comes standard with chrome hardware and is the perfect addition to any snare arsenal.

Comments about DW Collector's Series True-Sonic Snare Drum:

The DW Truesonic is a tip of the hat to, arguably, the best snare ever made; the iconic Rogers Dynasonic. Hence the name 'Truesonic,' a nice acknowledgement to Rogers. To me, this is what a Rogers COB Dynasonic would be if they were still in business. Incredible versatility, and once properly set up, every spot is a sweet spot. From dry crack, to orchestral to a lose blues snare it does it all. And, it rocks! It can even be
set to sound like a Ludwig Supraphonic. It's built like a tank in the USA. Its my first DW Drum and dealing with Musical Friend. I'll be back to both. MF's customer service was outstanding and the price was terrific. Five rimshots!

Comments about DW Collector's Series True-Sonic Snare Drum:

DW has done a nice job with their tribute to the Rogers Dynasonic. I own a 60s and 70s dyno. The DW is close enough in sound to the 70s and better built than both models, in my opinion. Overall, a bit drier than the originals. I achieved this comparison by using a Remo Diplomat Clear Reso and Remo Coated Ambassador batter on the DW. The Rogers had Remo Ambassador snare sides, same batters. My only real gripe would be the price is a bit high. I got mine with a sweet MusciansFriend DW coupon, otherwise I may not be enjoting one yet. Nonetheless a great sounding snare! Sounds crisp and doesnt choke out on high tuning and has nice body when tuned lower. The amount of adjustment options with sensitivity is a nice surprise as well.
