The DDJ-SB3 also features a new function called FX Fade. This new function enables you to make smooth transitions by cross-fading while simultaneously applying effects such as HPF, LPF, loop playback, and backspin. This makes for more intuitive mixing for beginner DJs.
Though features like Pad Scratch and FX Fade are geared towards beginner, the DDJ-SB3 is built to last and is capable of producing quality performances in professional settings as well. The controller’s small size and reliability make it a great backup rig for touring DJs. The DDJ-SB3 also fits perfectly in most 37-key keyboard gig-bags.
In addition to the new features, the DDJ-SB3 features a built-in audio interface and class-compliant USB connectivity. There are a variety of input and output options, too, including a mic input, ¼” and 1/8” headphone jacks and RCA stereo outputs.
Any DJ will tell you there are going to be some important accessories to remember. These include DJ Headphones, a gig-bag, a variety of RCA cables, a laptop stand, and if you're playing a lot of gigs, two passive DI boxes.
It is important to note that the new SB3 uses Serato DJ Lite, rather than Serato DJ Intro. DDJ-SB3 unlocks Serato DJ Lite for free when plugged into the software via USB. You can download Serato DJ Lite for free.
