The new Fender American Performer series of guitars and basses has been introduced.
Fender announced their new American Performer series of electric guitars and basses. The Fender American Performer line-up includes each of their standard models: Stratocasters, Telecasters, Jazz Basses and Precision Basses. It also includes a Jazzmaster, Mustang and a Mustang bass.
The Fender American Performer series replaces their long-running American Special series. Like the American Special family, these models are made in Fender’s Corona, CA factory. They featured brand new Yosemite™ pickups and their long-running Greasebucket™ circuit, which allows you to shape your high frequencies without adding any bass.

Fender’s new American Performer series Stratocasters come in two distinct models: the standard SSS and an HSS.
The SSS model has three Yosemite™ single-coil strat pickups while ethe HSS features two Yosemite™ pickups in the middle and neck and a DoubleTap™ humbucker in the bridge. The DoubleTap™ hum can also be controlled by a push/pull tone pot. Each model features Fender’s Greasebucket™ circuit.
Both Strat models feature alder bodies, “Modern C”-shaped maple necks, 9.5” radius fingerboards and 22 jumbo frets. The headstocks are adorned with Fender’s ClassicGear™ tuning machines.

Fender’s new American Performer series features two new Telecaster models: a standard SS model and an HS model (also known as Telecaster Hum).
The standard model features two single-coil Yosemite™ pickups, with a shellac coating on the neck pickup and wax potting on the bridge pickup, allowing the coils to breathe and simultaneously keep feedback at bay.
The HS model features a Yosemite™ single-coil in the bridge position and a DoubleTap™ humbucker in the neck position. It provides classic humbucker and single-coil voices, controllable via the push/pull tone pot.
Each Tele model features alder bodies, “Modern C”-shaped maple necks, 9.5” radius fingerboards (available in maple or rosewood) and 22 jumbo frets. The headstocks are adorned with Fender’s ClassicGear™ tuning machines.

As with the other models in the American Performer family, the AP Jazzmaster features two single-coil Yosemite™ pickups and their Greasebucket™ circuit. It also features a maple “Modern C” neck and a 9.5” radius rosewood fingerboard adorned with 22 jumbo frets. As with the prior models, the headstock is adorned with Fender’s ClassicGear™ tuners.

For years players have been clamoring for a new American-made Mustang, and the American Performer Mustang delivers.
The alder bodied, 24” short-scale American Performer Mustang features two single-coil Yosemite™ pickups, as well as Fender’s Greasebucket™ tone circuit. The AP Mustang also features a vintage-modern Mustang bridge with grooved saddles.
Moving up the body, this new Mustang features a “Modern C”-shaped maple neck with a 9.5” radius rosewood fingerboard and 22 jumbo frets. Moving up to the headstock, we find Fender’s ClassicGear™ tuners.

As with the rest of the AP series, this new Jazz Bass features Fender’s new Yosemite™ single-coil pickups and their Greasebucket™ tone circuit. It also features a 4-saddle vintage-style bridge.
