Sennheiser is one of the most well-known names in the music world today. The company was originally founded in 1945 by Fritz Sennheiser, and his family has been in charge ever since. It's an interesting bit of trivia that the first product Sennheiser produced wasn't audio equipment at all, but a simple voltmeter. However, by 1946 they'd found their calling and released their first microphone. The rest is history - a history of setting the standard for audio recording and monitoring technology, and which continues decades later. There's a Sennheiser microphone ready to go for any musical application you might need. The best-represented category in the lineup is the handheld dynamic cardioid mic, which comes in enough varieties to satisfy every vocalist and stage manager. Microphones like the E 822, E 835 and E 845 are available in switched and switchless models, so you can choose which works better for you. If you'd like to pick up a bundle that includes a stand and cable, you'll find those waiting for you with the E 838, E 822, E 825 and E 835. For stages that need specialty response characteristics and patterns, give a second look to the supercardioid E 945 and the large-diaphragm E 965.

You can also have your choice of response for instrument mics with the Evolution series, headlined by the E901 cardioid/boundary, E904 dynamic and E914 condenser microphones. For some instruments, purpose-built microphones deliver the best sound, so Sennheiser rises to the challenge with the E908 condenser mic. It comes in a 'B' variety for wind instruments and 'D' for percussion. They've also go the E604 for your toms and snares, conveniently available in a 3-pack if you want to equip your whole set, and the E902 for your kick drum. If you're a guitarist, take a look at the E609, which comes individually or in a stand and cable bundle, as well as the E906 for recording at the amp level.

In need of a general-purpose microphone for the stage, broadcast sound booth or studio? A few more Sennheiser microphones to consider are the MD421-II and supercardioid MD441-U, along with the large-diaphragm MK4 condenser and the overhead E614. Looking for a new wireless capsule? There are a few to peruse, from the MMD 835-1 e835 to the MMK 965-1 e965.

For your on-stage performances and studio sessions, high-performance microphones are crucial. Sennheiser definitely comes through for you with their diverse lineup of mics, which provide plenty of options to get yourself set up for accurate recording of all your acoustic instruments and vocals.
